Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Forza - A good racing game for a good console
Forza 2 is a great game. Good gameplay, good graphics etc. However it is targeted at a specific market - people who like the technical aspect of racing on consoles. If you just like to get cool cars and let them rip at top speed on hugh tracks, then maybe this isnt for you - I recommend something like Gran turismo ..
But a good game and here on amazon.co.uk, a good price!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A finely tuned simulation racer - superb!
This is a real example of what a next-generation console can do. With the power of the 360, you get the racing and graphics hinted at in PS2 / Xbox games, but with a never-faltering framerate and of course more detailed visuals. The game's strongpoint is its physics engine; it is sublime. I've played some great PC sim racers, and this one on the 360 is right up there. It is incredibly realistic and satisfying to play. It's difficult (try turning off some or all of the assists) - but not annoyingly so. A 4WD Audi TT grips the tarmac as you'd imagine, whilst a 70's Porsche 911 is a delight to slide out the back end and regain control. Enemy AI is pretty good, and you are penalised for crashes which makes the racing far more tense than the PS / PS2 / PS3 GT series (which I have always really liked) - though I must admit I haven't worked out how exactly you are penalised, as the time penalties don't seem to be 'awarded'. Compared with the GT games, the handling / physics is perhaps even better, but the graphics aren't quite as good as GT5 Prologue, (or for example PGR4). However, they are realistic and do the job nicely, with superb cars, reflections, and decent tracks and scenery. I'm playing Forza 2 using a Logitech wheel, and it feels superb - just like my PS2 Logitech wheel. Read a few forums to choose between this and the Microsoft one.

I recently needed a pre-1975 American muscle-car to enter an amateur series. I bought a '68 Pontiac GTO and entered the race without modifying anything (not even tyres). What a race! The feeling of weight was dramatic and really authentic, with the brakes and associated inertia incredibly accurate. You can't cheat the physics, if you break heavily at the wrong point in a turn, you'll just carry on and understeer, or slide and miss the apex. The whole feel of the races was really dramatic and tense, I'm now looking forward to `modding' this car and taking it out again. The feel was similar to the amazing GT Legends on PC, in which I loved racing big old Jaguars from the 60's.

All in all, this is proper next-gen console racing, and as such has to be the best driving game I've ever played. Superb!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Addicted to racing games? look no further.
This game is amazing, there is so mutch to accomplish in it's carrer mode that it took me 80 plus hours, add to that a huge arcade mode and xbox live play and your onto a real winner. The only down side is that it may well take over your life, this game can become seriously addictive with it's car tuning, upgrading, painting and trading with friends over xbox live.

This game has as mutch depth as an Ocean, a truly brilliant racing sim and another reason to own an xbox360 the best games machine to date, who needs gran turismo when you could own this.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - unbelievable
the closest you will ever get to to being a professional motorsport driver - unless you like a REAL challenge you should probably go for something a little easier on the mind like NFS.

THE FINEST RACING SIM OUT THERE! WITH ALMOST EVERY CAR YOU EVER DREAMT OF, FROM LEADING MODERN SUPER CARS TO THE HUMBLE CLASSICS AND EVERY LEVEL OF PRO MOTORSPORT CARS BAR F1.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Exceptional work
I think Jeremy Clarkson summed it up best on one of the Top Gear episodes, where he took a Honda NSX - R round the Mugen racing circuit, once on Forza Motorsport and then for real, to see how the two compared.

Once on the Circuit, He realised that the only thing seperating the two times was the fact that when playing Forza, the user has no 'fear factor' and therefore, trying to match the time on Forza was impossible.

Previous reviewers have moaned about the level of graphics on this game. however, when you consider the sheer amount of detail put in to this game you can see why they haven't put as much time into it. drivers physically change gear (you can see this) brake discs heat up on heavy use, and whilst in race you can keep tabs on not just tyre wear, but also tyre heat in order to ensure maximum grip. tuning your chosen car does require a degree of understanding about cars in itself - although you can physically feel the difference, and the consequences of getting it wrong. these are just a few of the details built in to the game.

With 300 (ish) cars available to purchase or win, there is something for everyone, from the Ford Focus ST to the Pagani Zonda and every single car not only feels different when driving, but reacts differently to different situations, from cornering on rails (Pagani Zonda) to sliding about all over the place like the tyres were made out of Banana Skins (Shelby Cobra).

This game is a true driving simulator like nothing else on the market. I suggest that if you're looking for graphics, you choose something like PGR or Need for Speed. A friend of mine tried Forza Motorsport 2 after completing the latest need for speed, and failed to finish a lap after 10 minutes. Donuting all over the place, he eventually gave up, proclaiming it as 'a heap of crap'. I just hope he doesn't ever get hold of a driving licence.

I personally hope that they bring out Forza 3, as quickly as possible, to save me from buying some other 'all action, all graphics' heap of fiction other people call a 'racing game'.
