Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Ok, so it's not exactly my kinda game...
First things first, if you love Mario games, then you'll love this. I'm not having a go at that. But having never been a Nintendo player before the Wii, and looking for a game for my new Wii, I decided to buy this. All the reviews I read were great (97% etc). Thought I couldn't fail to enjoy it.

But after trying it out every night for a week, I couldn't wait to get rid of it. There's no sense of achievement in anything you do. It's just "stuff" really. I'd load it up each night and think "oh, more of the same".
Not much depth to it at all. Nice presentation, great controls, lovely colours, there's a few interesting bits to make you think (slightly), but unless you LOVE Mario, then this is probably best aimed at under-14s.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Incredible
This is, simply put, the best videogame I've ever played. It crams more imagination and charm into one level than most games manage in their entirety. Flawless controls are combined with amazing level design. It's a game you can pick up and play for ten minutes at a time, or (as with me) hours on end, so it's suitable for everyone. This is as close to perfection as gaming can get.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great fun throughout
The NES had Super Mario 1,2 and 3. Parts 1 and 3 were exceptional landmarks in in 2D gaming. Games that are still infinitely playable to this day.

Mario 64 marked the move to 3D and again proved that Mario was king of platformers. Sadly Mario sunshine didn't quite make the grade, was this a sign of Nintendo standards declining? Not at all.

Mario galaxy is a return to form. From start to end this game is a joy to play. The story is nonsense (as always) but don't let that detter you from some of the greatest level designs and graphics ever to grace a console.

You take the role of Mario who has to collect 'stars' before he can rescure the Princess. Mario's world has been blown to bits and he has to fly through the galaxy visiting chunks of his planet in order to get the stars. The levels are inventive and not restricted in any way. The controls are responsive. Now and again you will find the camera goes into a strange position, but this corrects itself quickly.

The music is now fully orcehstral and brilliantly written. Every part of this game is expertly done and it shows in a package that from conception to completion is flawless.

In an age of shooters this brings life back into platforming and in great style.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - its a game for babys
there are 2 things i dont like about this game,
1) its too confusing! you keep going upside down, then back right and then upside down...etc
2) its a lot more.. "baby ish" then Mario sunshine and Mario 64.
i personally wish i had not bought it.

i think it was a bad idea to make the game a "jump to the next planet game"

PS: i really loved and played to a finish: Mario 64, and sunshine (gamecube).

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - one of the best ever.
I've been playinf games on and off since the zx spectrum, of the 1980s and this is one of the best games ever in my opinion. The sheer freshness of each new galaxy is unbelieveable. The graphics, controls and sound are all top score. And no, i'm not a fan of mario games - i thought super mario on the ds was rather disappointing, but this is without doubt a masterpiece. It fits along Halo and Jet set willy (from the 1980s) as one of my favourite games ever.

very highly recommended
