- Does what it's meant to do!
Great - and pretty much essential kit if you use your PS3 for watching lots of DVD/Blu-Ray discs.
I like the solid, tactile feel to it - matches the PS3's quality nicely.
OK, so it hasn't got a light, and it needs pairing with your PS3 - so what? It's less than 20 quid and does exactly what it's supposed to do!

- Why Bluetooth???????
Good solid controller has all the buttons you would expect for Blu Ray playback and extras. Couple of things to mention though
1\ Dont expect to just be able to take it out the packet and start using it like every other remote control you have ever used. You have to pair it up with the PS3 via Bluetooth for some bizarre reason. Personally I find this is way over the top for just a remote control and can only be used on 1 PS3 at a time (due to pairing), unlike the remote for the Xbox 360 can be used on as many 360's as you like, without any configuration!!!
2\ Has lots of buttons and the remote does not illuminate in any way so you basically have to have a light on to use the remote...
Might be worth Sony noting the above in the future as these facts do let the controller down. Microsoft win the controller stakes....
Had to give it 2 stars as you dont basically get much option but to buy this remote unless you go the unofficial route and end up with an inferior remote. I do own a PS3 and use this remote however I am not biased towards Sony like it appears most of the current reviewers are.....

The blue ray remote is essential if you wish to use the console for anything other than games.
Such as Blue Ray movies, DVD's, CD's and if you use it to stream media form your computer as I do.
It is very well built and the buttons are well laid out.
May not be the most exciting item Sony have made but I highly recommend it.
Rating: - Essential accessory.
This remote is pretty much essential if you're using the PS3 as a DVD player, especially if some of the people wanting to watch DVD's are unfamiliar with the Playstation SIXAXIS controller.
Rating: - Really useful bit of kit
This remote is bluetooth and happily works with PS3 behind the TV out of sight which is good.
It is a very big and very complicated remote . It takes a bit of getting used to. There are a lot of buttons on it, most of which do nothing during most films.
However, it is a lot easier to use that the PS3 6axis controller in films. It can also navigate the XMB menus to use films, music and photos. It is useful and maps buttons from the 6 axis so you can find where you are going well.
Recommended if you ever use PS3 for DVD or BluRay playing.
Not an ideal solution for anyone who has a phobia of many buttoned remotes!
