Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Why no compatable game pad???
Why is it, i buy my first game for the PC, only to find that i cant use a gamepad?
I am new to all this, but dissapointed that i cant use the game and there are just toooo many keys to hit on the keyboard.
Any advice????

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Fantastic fun, Graphically stunning, Singleplayer a bit short.
I had previously not owned or played any of the Call of Duty series, mainly because of the WWII setting which I played to death in Battlefield 1942.

The gameplay is fantastic, keeping the action flowing and the set-pieces are amazing. My favourite level was a "flashback" to Russia, around the same time of the Chernobyl disaster. Where you and a superior office are tasked with an Assassination. Felt great sneaking through the grass in full Ghillie suit, and theres a moment when the enemy closes in which is so cool.

My only dislike of the game is that its far too short. It took me about 8 hours or so to complete, which compared to other shooters is pathetic.

But never the less, the game that is there is fantastic. Graphically its beautifully realistic. The multiplayer portion of the game is great fun, similar in style to Counter-Strike but with an edge of Battlefield 2.

If your into online shooters it's well worth the investment, the single player campaign is short but not game breaking. A Fantastic, graphically stunning game.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Do not miss on this game!!!
This game has made me rediscover my long lost passion for first shooter games. I have enjoyed every single aspect of the game: the concept, all the missions, the graphics, the characters, the weapons. The "Guaranteed Entertainment" is written all over it. I am strongly recommending this game to everyone.

On the other hand, as someone who does not like the multiplayer mode, I found the single-player game a bit short. And I did not like an endless number of enemy soldiers reappearing on the screen at times when I felt I should stay in one place to examine in some detail the surroundings. But then, this gives you no time to rest and adds to overall intensity.

An excellent game.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Best Game Ever Played
This is definitely the best game I've ever played. Excellent single player, possibly a bit short but has enough depth. And an excellent multiplayer mode. Brilliant game.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The best game I have ever played
I have played all of the CoD series apart from the one that shifted over to the consoles (Big mistake). I have been interested in most of them especially the multi-players. But out of all of them CoD4 is the best game of the lot it beats everything i have played hands down.

The storyline is sublime i was left in shock twice thinking about what the hell just happened. I have never seen such a storyline as good as that. The AI like people before me have said they are very realistic and along way from the pile of dead Russians in one place on Stalingrad on CoD1. The way they interact to thier surroundings is amazing.
The plot is a little eccentric but it has everything in it from assassinations to nuclear explotions. The 1st person cinematic makes the game feel so much alive than anything before it. The player feels as if they are part of the ongoing story and it is thier job to sort the mess out.

The Multi-player is as good as the CoD series have been. The addition of the battlefields point system gives the game an even more competitive feel. The ability to unlock weapons just makes you play on with the lust to find your perfect weapon. The custom setups are a nice touch aswell. Almost WoW like in a way with each level letting you wield different things.

There are a few hitches in the game though like all games do. For one you can use Airstrike and Helicopter strikes on MP way to much. On big servers it gets a little to ridiculous. The other one that i experienced is the game at first did not run on my PC eventhough my specs matched even the min requirments. After having the same thing happen with the demo but on the demo i edited a file to make it work. I just copyed the CoD4 demo file and replaced the one on the main game and i received no further issues. But if i had not have gone on the internet to find such a file then i would not have been able to play call of duty and i would have been distraught.

But this game is worth every penny. I have never been so aw-inspired by a game before. But this just bits the biscuit its a must buy for all you FPS fans out there.
