After seeing quite a lot of good reviews for this portable speaker, I was very disappointed when it arrived and I tried it. It was cheap plastic with a very flimsy wire connection to the ipod - I doubt that the wire would last terribly long. The sound was tinny with a persistent background buzzing noise. It worked - that is the only positive thing I can say.
If you want a decent sound from your ipod/mp3 player...buy the Creative travel speaker which is outstanding.

they produce excellent sound quality considering the size. we have an i-pod shuffle. our daughter and son-in-law have 8 gig nanos and were so impressed are going to get some for their hols. once again, great little piece of kit.

I was looking for (a) travel speakers and (b) a travel charger for my iPod (80GB Classic). These fit the bill all-in-one.
One of the key reasons I like these is that they're lightweight, and fold away nicely. The volume, whilst unlikely to keep your neighbours awake at night, is more than sufficient for most people's needs - I'm currently using them in my kitchen, and the volume's great.
The only downside I've seen so far is that they're not very bass-y, but at this price, it's a minor quibble.
One point: your iPod won't charge whilst it plays - you need the lead that would normally connect your iPod to your PC and this then slots into the plug for the speakers (which is detachable).

This was fine to start with and worked well for such a small system. But after about 4 months the plug stopped working. Fine if you buy not intending it to last long, but personally I'll pay a bit more next time.

I bought this item on a whim and could not have been more impressed! The delivery was within a couple of days and it worked with ease straight away. Well worth purchasing with the power adapter which can be used to charge your mp3 as well. Unfortunately mine doesn't have an inbuilt chargeable battery but it is still great to have the option. The volume can be a little limited but you can use the volume alongside your mp3 volume for a better range. I bought this item mainly for holidays and the sound quality is more than adequate for this type of use as is the bargain price! Would recommend this item every time!!!!
