Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Lots of slime, terrible gameplay
I'm not a huge fan of shooters but early PS3 games like the excellent Resistance: Fall of Man encouraged me to try this one out. Visually, it's very slick: there's blood and slime all over the screen and the movement is very smooth and immersive. However, I barely got through the first couple of big fights before trading this one in. Gameplay is awful and keeping cotnrol of a team of 5 or 6 dumbass "heroes" who do nothing but wander blindly into the firing line is nigh on impossible. I have no idea how you'd manage to finish such a dumb game and I don't think anyone ever has. Rubbish.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Not Bad, Just Not Great
This is far from an awful game, but some brave ideas are executed poorly, resulting in a frustrating experience.

The plot involves a Jericho squad (essentially Goth Ghostbusters) being sent to investigate strange goings on in a desert. This leads to hell-gates being opened and all manner of nastiness. Typical stuff from horror writer Clive Barker; although the writing or enemies never match classics like Hellraiser, they remain entertaining.
The locations in the game are varied on paper, ranging from a demonic take on World War 2, the Crusades & the Roman Era. Unfortunately, in game they look similar, claustrophobic and dull. The Roman Centurion enemies provide some variety later on, but mainly, the Jericho squad fight the same enemies in each level.

Gameplay is fairly good, despite QTES adding nothing to proceedings. Every squad member has a specific ability/weapon, which the player can switch to at any point in the game. These skills range from the ability to slow down time, set enemies on fire, or possess demons etc.
What really holds the game back is that none of these are explored much and there are too many of them. Remembering which character has a specific skill is an unnecessary chore. Also, most characters tend to die many times during battle. Your character is a healer; therefore fire-fights are spent running around, dodging bullets and reviving team-mates. As battles amount to little more endless waves of enemies appearing from thin air, this gets annoying very quickly and lasts much longer than necessary.

The game is brutally difficult because of this, and as some enemies have the ability to kill multiple squad members instantly, it feels unfair at times. The ending is a disappointing anticlimax, much like the whole game.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Niceee!!
me personally i loved this game. clive barker who came out with the hellraiser films has done brilliant to bring that imaginative storyline into this game which has worked wonders to be sat in front of the tv for endless hours playing on it.
its got amazin graphics to the game which if it had of been like fifa street 3 crappy graphics then i would of not even thought about buying it, but this game has to be in any gamers collection especially if you like to scare your girlfriend or 7 year old sister =D

only problem i had was that it had to be a better finish which they better make a sequal just to lighten up my life and all the other peoples who have bought this game

overall it SHOULD be bought!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome
I got this game on a very dubious opinion, my friend stated that if this was released earlier last year - and not over Christmas it would of got 8.5 - 9.0 out of 10. I can see what he means - its a cross between Call of Duty and Silent Hill. I highly recommend it! Just switch it on, turn the sound up and lights off, and take your time with it. Its not Halo or Resistance, its not a run a gun(well, ok it can be sometimes.. running away that is! ;-))

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Play the game - Not the demo
A tough game with the ability to change to other players to use their various talents. Plenty of different weapons and powers, certainly loads of blood and gore. One thing I didn't like through it is the sequences where you have to escape/kill by pressing the buttons fast and in sequence. Did nothing for me.
In short, far far better than the demo - very dark, gloomy and atmospheric.

People who only play Demos shouldn't leave reviews on games, IMO.
