Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Bad Sound Quality
I finally bought the 80gb iPod after my Sony MP3 player started to play up. I had to exchange it within a week as the sound was distorted even after changing my earphones and changing the EQ settings (which are rubbish as well). The second one arrived and I had exactly the same problem, so that went straight back too. I have since looked at other reviews of this iPod and found that other people have had similar problems with the sound too. I'm still looking around for another 80gb or more MP3/4 player but will definitely stay clear of Apple iPod.

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Far too quiet
I love Ipod as much as the next guy, but this Ipod 6G classic is let down by one major flaw: The EU volume restrictor.

If you are planning to use this on a bus/train then don't bother. You will not be able to hear the thing unless you purchase some *very* expensive noise cancelling headphones.

I never review products on Amazon, but felt so thoroughly dissapointed by this Ipod that I had to warn others.

If you like your music loud, take the trouble of finding a US model.

I wish I had.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Apple Ipod 80gb
This is the first Ipod that i've had and am now regretting having spent money on other brands simply because they were a cheap alternative. I have no real need for the 160gb version, especially now that i have used the Ipod and seen the compression.

i bought it primarily for the music but since then i have also got into the video in a big way. Itunes may be a tad expensive but they have a good range and in any case you can put your own video/movies onto your Ipod quite easily.

The quality of the screen is excellent and the battery life is superb, especially if you're only listening to music/audiobooks. In terms of sound quality, i would hold off on upgrading headphones until you have used the ones provided because even though they're not noise cancelling, the quality is good and they're comfortable. I use it a lot when jogging and they fit comfortably. Furthermore, the Ipod itself is useful for exercise even though i was told a load of rubbish in the store about it skipping because of no anti-shock etc. i've done intensive circuit sessions with absolutely no problems. All in all, as much as i wanted to hate it because it stifles competition, there is a reason why it outsells everything else and that is because it's the best on the market by a long way.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Top of the Pods ;o)
OK, excuse the terrible pun but this really is Top of the Pods! I received mine this morning and from the moment I saw the packaging I was amazed. It was so tiny!! It was the size of a small carton of ribena! Very eco-friendly. The actual iPod looks great, really sleek and modern yet the design still encorperates the simplicity of it's predesestors. The 'hold' button which stops the iPod from singing to itself inside your pocket when you knock a button is sweetly hidden on its base so there's no chance of nudging that by accident.

This new nano also has a nifty little function called 'cover flow' and dispite other customers complaints I have had little trouble with uploading covers onto the coresponding albums. If iTunes doesn't have the right cover, do it yourself by clicking 'album info' in iTunes.

Right, so that's the asthetics out of the way. Now, my last mp3 music-ma-jiggy was a sony. It was hurrendous. You have to use Media Player to stick music onto it, unfortunatly mediaplayer struggles to find the right information for everything. It was the most frustrating little gadget I've ever owned parr Furby!

Luckily iTunes is efficient and simple. Just like the Ipod itself!!

The reason the iPod nano lost a star is due to the poor sound quality COMPARED to the sony one I had previously. I must stress that this is a comparison issue as the sound overall is very good.

Just 2 things I would like to mension, go on ebay (sorry amazon!) for a silicone cover. Also, you will need either a friend with iTunes on disk or tinternet to download the program, just google it.

Thanks Apple, you ROCK!!x

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Looks great...sounds great (when you can get it to work)!
My 30G packed up after 2 years(battery pack melt down). I thought that was a bad deal, new battery pack £49 in-store or £69 mail order.

So bought a new 80G instead ..BAD MOVE.. First one lasted 1 WEEK, second one has lasted 5 WEEKS.

Problems are: Freezing
Not synching
Skipping thru tracks
Graunching noise coming from inside
Whinning noise coming from inside

I could go on but it's too depressing..............

The return process is well sorted (by UPS) but I'm rapidly losing patience. I've heard that the 60G is a lot more stable.
