- soooooo bad
this is not worth the money paid for it. Apple overycharging for something that is not reliable at best. The only good thing so far I have discovered is the card game! I have had to reset the machine four times. Reset number 5 it froze completely and had to wait till the battery died before it would reset. I have had it TWO WEEKS, this is the kind of thing I expect after two YEARS not weeks
Don't buy this, it's rubbish and you would be better off going for a different brand

Wow, i love this ipod!! it replaced my old 3rd gen 20gb one which broke after being chucked on the floor... what an upgrade!! iam really impressed with all the layout features and all the colour of it makes it feel really special. The sound quality has improved aswell - if i am not mistaken, i adjusted the sound equalizer to "loudness" which means the headphones that come with it are not actually that bad!! They were actually a pleasant suprise with more base than the ones that came with my 20gb 3rd gen ipod (ok they're not great but they're fine for general listening). The response time when changing track is also faster than my old one. It also beats the value of any of it's other competitors.

Lovely gadget let down by Itunes.
Album art cannot be downloaded for many albums that windows media player can easily find. Also you have to give your credit card details for this terrible service. Then once you've found album art from elsewhere and sync with the ipod - no - not that simple - coverflow doesn't work and doesn't reflect the album art in Itunes. Another example of apple 'looks' but inferior functionality. Itunes simply doesn't work on the windows platform. This Ipod depends on Itunes. Don't buy if you have windows.

I bought one to partner the Itube amp. The biggest let down is sound quality. Its passable with headphones, but put into a decent hi fi and its totally disappointing. The vocals are suppressed and their is no musicality about the sound, the soundstage is poor and its a total disappointment each time I use it. I tried my old Ipod nano and it sounds better. Researching this on the web many people share my view and recommend getting a 5th gen ipod or a nano if decent sound is a requirement. I keep thinking of returning it to amazon, in some ways I cant be bothered with the hassle, but I probably should. My advice, ok for the train or non fussy teenagers, but not if you have a inkling of decent sound quality.

This by no mistake is a fantastic bit of kit, enough music, movies, photos etc to last a very very long time at 3/4 full i have enough music to last over a month of continual sounds. The battery seems good so far although if you play games for example the bright screen does lessen this a fair bit. it's a feat to get an 80gb drive into something this size but my gripes are as follows.
I can only charge from the computer. l had 3rd generation ipod which i dropped down the loo but all my plug in , car, battery pack, alarm clock and boom box don't seem to charge the classic. This is a big big pain, it's hard to see why, with the same connecter, this does not work.
The hard drive can be quite slow mounting/un-mounting etc this may not seem that suprising with such a big drive but it's worth bearing in mind. One other bonus is the games are very good poker graphics great (3rd party)
