I bought a Canon MP610 on 18th February 2008 and have used it regularly since then without a hitch.
There was something about its weight and sturdiness when I first got it, which, unlike other machines I've had in the past that were rather wobbly, was reassuring. And I haven't been disappointed.
It is an all-round winner.
My office is very small and my desk space is limited, but the size of this fine multifunction device is of no bother. In fact it is quite useful. I often use the top of it as a temporary home for A4 documents and things - just making sure not to cover the flip up operating panel. You can keep the paper output tray closed because it opens automatically when you start to print. Normal paper for everyday automatically-fed printing I keep loaded out of the way in the cassette tray at the base of the machine, then I lift up and use the rear paper tray as and when I need to, e.g. for printing on special paper or an envelope.
NOTE: Remember to toggle the button on the operating panel which alters between paper being fed from the rear tray or the cassette tray so you don't waste ink by loading up your special photo paper and find your fab pic gets printed on a sheet of £2.99 a ream.
I would recommend this 3-in-1 device. There might be cheaper ones, as I have gone for in the past, being on a fairly tight budget; but the results of spending a bit more are worth it.
And, on the subject of spending, my advice is... Don't be tempted by cheaper compatible inks. Get the Canon originals.

Excellet printer, took 20 mins to set up from new. Bought mine in PC World for £99.99 as i needed it immediately but still worth it at that price. In comparasion to HP printers the ink is about £4.00 more expensive but you do get much more ink so over time the Canon option will leave you with more change and less ink swaps which is usually were the companies make there money. Similiar spec HP's were cheaper but with a 12 million Mega pixel camera the increased 9600dpi functionality at about £30 more swung me. The first couple of prints had a few lines but after performing a deep clean on the inkjets all was operating with superb clarity and resolution. Anyone with a high MP camera would be recommended to go for a high dpi to utilise the camera's options to it's fullest.
Only slightly negative side is that the printer is a bit bigger than most, but being an all in one that can be forgiven, just bear this in mind if you have limited work space, apart from that nothing else to fault very impressed indeed.
PS: You will need a USB to printer cable as one isn't included in the box

I read all the reviews on regarding this product and was convinced I was purchasing a quality product. I eagerly awaited it's arrival and couldn't wait to install on my computer. Unfortunately it would not automatically align printer heads so I contacted Canon who after a few attempts to remedy the situation suggested the item was faulty. I then manually aligned the printer heads and printed a photo. The result was worse than my £24 Epson DX4000. I promptly returned to Amazon for a refund.

I have only had this printer for a week and I have already used most of the many functions. It has to be the best printer of its type and price range on the market!
The reproduction quality of scanned images is truely remarkable - even sccanning a small photo and blowing it up to A4 borderless, the quality, sharpness and colours are outstanding. It is really easy to set up and use and it's not long before you are actually looking for images to print just so you can see what it can do. I found the print speed to be very good and there is even a quiet mode for "night-time" printing!
Many functions can be used without the need of a PC connection due to the extensive menus and the brilliant TFT screen.
If you are spending hours looking around for a quality 3-in-1 for home or office use, then look no further, you will not be dissapointed!

This is the first time i have purchased a cannon printer as my last 4 over the last 10 years have all been epsom printers and they were o.k but this canon printer is in a league of its own, first of all the print speed is amazing, twice the speed of my epson without losing any of the quality. The photo printing is probably as good as it gets, 6x4 pictures are as good as your high street developers but yet to try A4 size.
It is very user friendly and if you want to print to card then look no further than this printer. my only complaint is i did'nt buy it months ago, my work in the office is no longer a chore, yes goodbye epson and welcome canon.
