Video Games : Clive Barker's: Jericho(PS3)

- Excellent Squad-based shooter
I read some reviews of this game and thought it was run of the mill. So, ignored it until I seen it for a reasonable price. I plunged in and brought it. Anyway, I've finished this game now and let me just say this is an excellent game. It's not about shooting and more shooting. if you do then you will surely die and keep dying. this is where the squad based mechanics come into it's own. Chossing the right person for the job will definetly make life easier.
As with anything Clive Barker, the story is totally engrossing. the monsters are gross and the environments look great. Truly HD. This game is hard but in a good way as it makes you want to think. The boss fights are great and switching between squad members is solid.
This is game is 18 and rightly so, some scenes and story are gross and you shouldn't be playing this in front of children.
Apart from that the game is solid. There is no multiplayer, but I'm not complaining the single player is a good 10hrs or so. Plus there are unlockables etc.
I certainly enjoyed it and if like me you love horror or Clive Barkers work then you will enjoy this game from beginning to end. Like the previous person wrote this is definetly a "good book you can't put down".

This game is very run of the mill, story line is ok and all and graphics are quite good, its just in a gaming world of so many FPS its just dz'nt cut it with call of duty 4 and things you can do much better, tho i only paid 17.99 for the SE copy so i cant really grubble to much, quite happy to pay that, i addvise dont pay any more that 20, have fun,

OK what to say about this game..
I bought this after all the hype surrounding it and reading 5 star reviews. Normally I am very open minded, I enjoy most of the games I play, the movies I watch and the music I listen to.. but this game.. well..
Story: I have put a couple of hours game play in to try and get into the story but to no avail, it quite simply does not grab me and force me to play on.
Game play: The game play is very fiddly, the flitting between characters to utilise various abilities. The squad commanding feels utterly pointless. The total inefficiency and lack of stopping power of the conventional weapons, I have emptied entire clips into the enemies and they still keep coming. The other squad members don't appear to be the brightest, they will stand beside a dead monster that they know will explode and kill them.. but do they move?? no.
Production: Graphics are nice in the game, still not mind blowing as we all hope and pray will come along on the PS3 at some point. Voice acting.. well it's pretty rubbish as well.
Another point to mention is the code menu encourages you to call a premium rate number to get the codes for cheats, do the publishers not feel they have fleeced enough cash from us already by making us buy this game?!
To summarise, although I have slated the game I can still see why some people may enjoy it and I'm sure I will return to it once I run out of other games I enjoy playing. This is reason why I have not given a lower score.

This game is great, the shaky flashlight and puddles of gore add to the fear. Well when I say fear... ok its not very scary, people are more afraid of phycological terror these days, but where does that get you in computer games? shooting at things you cant see is just frustrating to me. this game is thrilling and disgusting (in a good way)and just fun to play. Lack of multiplayer is a shame, but can be forgiven. Buy this game when it is cheaper and you will not be disappointed.

Well, if i can just keep this short and sweet. this game has everything that any horror enthusiast could possibly want. there is lots of action as the enemies are relentless and tough to beat, the story is just awesome and like a good book, once you pick this you will not put it down as you will most definitely play it to the finish. however, no online play or multiplayer but in a strange kind of way you feel that this game is special and perhaps the decision to keep it just single player was the better decision. strange but true i hasten to add.
