I bought the Wii a while back and although i liked the idea of point and play nothing tore me away from my XBOX 360 UNTIL.
Mario kart..What a game. got the wheel with the game which is a great touch and makes you feel that nintendo have their customers at heart.
Took a wee while to get used to the handling but once you get used to that the game is the usual addictive game from the mario stable and both myself and my girlfriend had a great day yesterday playing it (I had two wheels..buying a lesser quality wheel a while back).
Finally the Wii has lived up to it's promise.
with this and house of the dead, I am converted to the idea of the Wii as a contender to my Xbox's domininance in my house.
Great game, great buy...more of this please nintendo.

This is one of the best games for the Wii. I have played all the other Mario Kart's and this is the best. My 62 year old dad could never get the hang of the old games but was playing this one for about 2 hours because it was so easy to get into.
The steering wheel takes about 1 race to get used to and then you are away. The bikes add a new flavour to the racing as they handle completely differently to the karts, making the vehicle selection more key. If you are looking at additional wheels, it is worth investing the extra money in the Official Nintendo wheel. It is a nice weight has a real quality feel and everything is designed to be exactly where you need it.
Graphically MKW isn't much different to the MK Double Dash on the Gamecube, but you won't care. It's not supposed to be a Gran Turismo. The game is quick to load and the new tracks all look great and very well thought out. The introduction of some of the old tracks from other MK games is a welcome addition that will appeal to veteran MK racers and newbies alike.
All in all very good game, and for £35 with the £8 wheel included it is great value. I highly recommend it

I bought this game before it got sold out, and I'm very pleased with it! There is an incredible array of options to choose from, the one that stands out most to my eyes is the 2 players online mode (BOTH battle and race!)
The novelty of the Mario Kart wii version lies in:
- the different rides (bikes and old cars amongst others like prams!!);
- new characters to begin with (baby characters!);
- unlockable characters, courses, championships, cars (and more that I might not know of yet!)
- the spectacular new weapons you can use (rockets, bombs, squids...etc);
- racing against 12 opponents at one time (instead of 8 in the N64)
- the new racetracks, plus ALL the racetracks from previous mario karts (including Game Boy Advance, Super Nintendo, and Nintendo 64!!!)
I found it extremely user friendly to get onto the internet and play against other users. It was exciting to see who I was going to race against, as it can be anyone from any part of the world!!! It was a lot of fun, especially as I could play online with a friend! I still have to try battle mode, which I really look forward to, and yes, you can play it online too!!!
Mario Kart for the Wii is a definite must have!

Disorientating at first, this new Mario Kart soon reveals itself to be amongst the finest of the series.
Pure, unadulterated fun of the highest order, from start to way, way beyond the finish line.
Rating: - Best Mariokart Ever!
I'm an old-school Mariokart player. I had the original on the SNES when that first came out, and loved it to bits. The original was one of the best games ever (after Zelda), and no other Mariokart version since could beat it...until now.
Why is it so good? Aside from the fact that it makes me smile to think that when I first played Mariokart on the SNES I used to unconsciously tilt the remote control (as you now have to with the Wii Wheel) the single best thing is...ONLINE RACES!!!
It's so easy to jump into! Just go into Mariokart WFC and choose to play against Worldwide or Continental players, or your own online friends. In Worldwide or Continental it then takes just a few seconds to find other players from across the globe, you all vote for a track to race, Wii picks one, and then you're away! There is no slow-down in the races at all, they run at full speed, and at the end the score affects your ranking. You start from a baseline of 5000 points and then gain or lose depending on where you finished.
Online racing is sooo addictive! This is what Mariokart has needed since the original was created! I can't wait for my old mates (who now live all over the place) to get this too so I can race them online! It'll be like proper old school races we had back in the day!
What else is good? Motorbikes! Waluigi Stadium! Racing motorbikes in Waluigi Stadium! Jumps! Tricks! Boost boost boost! The powerslide boost is much easier to do than it was in Mariokart 64, plus you get boosts for pulling tricks in the air (flick the wheel back at the right moment) and for slipstreaming other players. And also, there's a whole bunch of retro tracks in this game from every earlier version of Mariokart. Even with original SNES music!
Well done Nintendo, you've just robbed me of weeks of my life, I can see it happening, and I've only had it for three days so far!
