- Bugs Bunny - with extra bugs!
I bought this blind. I had no idea what it would involve - I just liked the look of Warner Brothers characters and silly weapons - and I'm not disappointed. The single player game is fun, with a co-operative two-player mode that I admit I haven't used yet but that surely adds a bit of value. Then there's a two, three or four-player "versus" mode which is really good fun. The wii controller works very well in this too. So on the surface, this game is good and I certainly like it.
But it's not without it's problems. Firstly, and this is really just an aesthetics issue, there aren't enough different playable characters for my liking. Players can be Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian, Taz or Foghorn Leghorn. Because the game involves the use of ACME-inspired guns, a few character are obviouly not viable - Road Runner, for example, has no hands - but we could have had Wile E Coyote, Yosemite Sam and a few others in here, even if only for multi-player. There are unlockable skins, but they're just different versions of the main characters i mentioned above. This is a bit lazy and gives the impression that the game was rushed out to meet a tight schedule.
And that's a feeling I get from playing through the main game. Sometimes, your character gets stuck. Sometimes, you reach a ledge the designers didn't think you would and either fall through it or get stuck in a kind of sky-diving pose. Not to mention that this is the only game to ever crash on me - and it's happened three times already!
So there you have it. An incomplete, bugged but ultimately still playable and affordable game - especially fun for fans of the WB characters!
