Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - very good, best football game on PS3
i have been waiting for about 2 months to get a football game for my ps3 and, by the sounds of things, fifa 08 and pes 2008 are no good at all. This is a massive step up from the FIFA im used to on PS2, which i was expecting. However, once being knocked out of the group stage after playing the entire qualifying campaign the insentive to pick the controller straight back up and try again is some what lacking, and, unfortunately, there's not much else to do on this game, im not good enough for the online because evryone plays it every living second and its not fun loosing 8-0 every time. This is the only negative i can find, it is a very, very good game and worth the money

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Good..ish
This is leaps & bounds ahead of the truly awful fifa 08, pes 2008 was a disaster, which makes this the best football game on ps3. Having said that i've not been blown away by its replayability, a kinda been there done that type experience. Roll on fifa 09.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - EA claiming the lead?
Pretty much as any Pro Evo fan I've been playing the series since ISS and last FIFA game I bought was 98.
I thought that would change with Fifa 08, but PES's unique gameplay kept me addicted to it. Well... the addiction lasted until I saw one video of Uefa 2008(it was really random, Worldcup/Uefa games always seemed pretty stupid to me, glad I did it though), gameplay seemed so PES alike and with the Fifa beautiful graphics and amazing realism, I was completely sold, I had already downloaded the demo from the PS Store but still hadn't installed (you can tell my little consideration for this championship games) so I went as fast as I could to install it and try it out, only to find out that they included Be A Pro mode on this one too, I was so going to buy it... but decided to read one review just to make sure it was really as it seemed... and then I read about the Captain Your Country mode, that's when the little doubts(since this is a full price for a game that only has European teams) vanished, I bought it and just have to say that Captain Your Country mode is just what I've been waiting for since those promises of a mode where you'd play with your own player and compete with friends for the captain band.
Even though this is a full priced game it's worth it, and I just hope Fifa 09 to as good and that they don't screw up now and either Konami really improves or this will be the year I'm changing back to EA's football game

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - get it right please
first off this game has got slighty improved gameplay (being able to control the power of your passes and through balls) over fifa 2008 but you only get to choose from 52 national sides, so as a full price game its probably not worth the money.

secondly i'm getting sick to death with picking Wales to find that all the players names are wrong and they havent even bothered putting in the right kit(don't know if any other country has got the wrong kit and names). this is an officially licensed game so the least they could do is get it right.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Finally Pro Evo can go in the bin...
Well it's been a long time coming, i have been an avid Pro Evo fan for years, i've had every installment of the game, including PES 2008, which has really let the title as a whole down - which has already been very well documented.

EA never really was on a patch compared to the fluidity of Pro Evo, but FIFA 08 seemed to turn a corner, yet i still didn't buy it. Then came along the demo of UEFA 2008, which i thought was awesome so i went out and bought the full game.

Immediately the difference between Pro Evo and Uefa 2008 is recognised. Pro Evo has poor graphics, sluggisg (at times) game play, and a general rushed feeling, including it's typical awful sound track. Uefa boots up and is immediately slick sounding and looking. The gameplay generally follows suit, i still think PES is slightly more creative, but Uefa just has it all for me, good gameplay, quality graphics and commentary and a decent soundtrack.

Definately recommended
