Video Games : UEFA Euro 2008 (PS3)

Until Fifa 2008, I was totally pro evo. Fifa 2008 won that battle hands down and i've been a avid Fifa player. I was keen to try the Euro 2008, because I was sure the tweaks would even further improve the game, but now i'm not sure.
The game seems more juddery. The animations seem to actually get in the way and manager animations and celebration option seem quite pointless. The players don't seem as fluid either. Watch Shaun Wright-Philips stroll up the wing. His legs look like 'The Ant Hill Mob' on speed [that's for older readers]. The weather conditions seem last generation and scoring seems far easier. In two qualifying games, Michael Owen scored 9 times - not exactly realism! The menus appear tacky and some of the stats which automatically appear are a bit annoying.
Having said all that, it's still early days and I may just be struggling with the transition. I'm sure the game will be fun and EA should be congratulated on not simply adding more international teams, but are clearly trying out some improvements for the next edition.
To the last reviewer, who clearly failed to grasp the concept of Euro 2008, I obviously would love to see my beloved Hull City in Europe, but not in a competition for international teams. If this is not what you wanted, swap it for Fifa 2008, you certainly won't be disappointed.

Let me start by saying that the last fifa game i bought was fifa 97 on the pc many years ago since then being playing the pro evo series ever since ,but after downloading the euro 08 demo from the ps store i was very impressed with it and decided to buy it it does definately feel like a next gen footy game the passing has really been vamped up and the way the players jostle for the ball is superb,playing online is perfect no lag unlike pro theres so many options for you to play with ,playin in the pro mode was fantastic i played as torres for spain and it blew me away a great addition to the series playing as a pro well done EA,captain your country mode is superb you have to work your way up from the B team its early days yet in this mode so dont want to say to much now to the cons i feel the shooting could be better you just dont feel like you can score a 25yard screamer another is its only international teams overall ea has come a long way in its last two games and with regards to konami they better start getting there finger out if only fifa and pro was combined it would be ultimate perfection.

The new features and enhanced gameplay (such as player responsiveness) from FIFA 08 really make this a much better playing experience.Graphics are suberb on a HDTV and player faces look very convincing. Captain your counrty is fantastic and you can play as England and win Euro 2008 with them. Commentators can say your surname (if your surname is one of the 200+ surnames in the game). little things like this make it best football game currently available to next-gen consoles!
