I don't regret my decision as it was always going to be hooked up to my TV to watch international DVDs, that's it, but when I was trying it out I found that the DVD flap needs holding down otherwise it comes open. It doesn't bother me that much, I just put a book or a bit of tape on it as I'm not going to use it as a portable. But if you are, you might want to think about that. Also when it starts up it makes a lot of noise, which is unexpected - I thought it was malfunctioning! But when it warms up and starts to play the DVD the system is very quiet.
