. Nintendo Official Component Video Cable (Wii)from: Nintendo December 08, 2006 There is no doubt that the component cable improves the picture. It's sharper, the contrast is more pronounced, the text is infinitely more readable...however, there is a down side. Because the cable is so good, it highlights the weaknesses in the Wii. While static background images are far superior, moving parts of the game (your Mii in Wii Sports Tennis for example) are far more pixelated. It seems to be evident on some games more than others - MarioKart in particular seems more pixelated. There is a definte trade off between the improved sharpness and resulting pixelation.
