. Nyko Intercooler - Cooling Device for the PLAYSTATION 3 (PS3)from: Nyko August 03, 2007 I'm really not sure why this item has received such poor feedback. I've repaired a few PS3s since the console launched and the fist batch with the 90nm cell run pretty damn hot. You also have to remember all the PS3 components are packed in very tight with only one fan (albeit a giant one) cooling the cpu and gpu. I'm sure in an ideal world (if manufacturing costs were cheaper) the back of the PS3 would have had an exhaust fan from the start. But alas it didn't and some of us, myself included, have seen articating and other problems caused by excessive heat. My advice is, if you have a launch model pick this up. If you have one of the newer 65nm models you won't be needing it. |
