Canon Pixma iP 4500 Premium Photo Printerfrom: Canon September 14, 2007 Canon have incorporated new ink tank technology in their new printers, seemingly to stop their customers from using anything other than Canon ink. Unfortunately for both the recent Canon printers I've struggled with lately, it just seems to prevent the user from printing anything. I had a Canon Multi-function printer which I had to return because it said the tank tray was not the original - I'd only had the printer 2 weeks and it was the original Canon ink caddy. In this iP4500, from the start I got a message that 1 of the tanks was invalid and should be replaced - again this was the original Canon cyan with all the ink still in.
