i so enjoyed stephs latest adventure, the birthday cake bit had me crying tears of joy,it was a wonderfull read i never put it down, and yet having read reviews i was a little worried as they all seemed disappointed, most however wanted stephs relationship with ranger and joe to highten but as far as im concerned this has already been clearly addressed and bounderies established,so for me this book follows on heavenly.a must for all stephs fans, enjoy.

I adored the earlier books in this series, but found I wasn't as gripped by the last couple, so I delayed buying this one. On balance I'm glad I got round to it eventually - I still don't think it's up to the earlier standard, but there were things I liked about it and overall I enjoyed reading it.
My main concern about the later books is sometimes the characters seem to be simply going through the motions, and this is no good thing when it's Stephanie and Joe - we're used to the lights being on and someone definitely at home and it wasn't quite there for me here - add that to an unconvincing villain and we're never really worried about Stephanie's safety. Just making the villain insane does not make him 3-dimensional or frightening ... Read More:

This is a between the numbers book. It isn't really a novel, more of a novella, probably a couple of hours worth of reading at most. It follows its predecessor, 'visions of sugar plums' which was based around Christmas and had a slightly supernatural feel. This one is set around Valentines day with much the same themes and ideas. Here Stephanie is partnered by Diesel, a possibly supernatural guy who chases some of the more oddball, weird and less threatening figures than in the regular Plum series.
This is fluff, but it's entertaining fluff, and if you enjoy the Plum novels there's nothing here not to like. It's still amusing, still pacy and still crime-lite.

Well, I am sorry to intrude on this new secret club. Here is the Janet Evanovich fan club in all its glory. Hundreds of reviews, millions of sales and almost all the reviews 5 star. I feel like an intruder at a tupperware party.Several people say this is their favourite book of all time...Well I had better just creep off quietly and leave you all to it..But first a quick look at the book as I saw it..
I was recommended Ms Plum by a client because I had nothing to read while waiting patiently for the new thriller by American Allan Furst. He writes deeply moving and very authentic historic novels, usually in a second world war scenario. Berlin Noire except noirer.
So I took to Ms Plum and have laughed my way through two books of ... Read More:

In One for the Money, Stephanie Plum becomes a bounty hunter charged with bringing in Joe Morelli, a cop who is charged with killing an unarmed man. The two had a history, from Joe teaching her choo-choo between her legs when she was six, later on the bakery floor when she was sixteen, and finally when she broke his leg by running over him when he didn't call again and told the whole town about their exploits.
In Two for the Dough (the second book in the series), Stephanie is after Kenny Mancuso, a relative of Morelli's and Morelli is everywhere. Before the book is over, he makes his move. And the results will keep you laughing for days!
In addition to the wacky romance, naturally there's a mystery, lots of bad guys, and great action. ... Read More:

Fantastic!!! I would love to be friends with Stephanie Plum - what an exciting time you would have out in the car with her!! Yes you would probably have whipp lash from all her accidents, and yes you would probably have a few cuts and bruises from the near death experiences - but what fantastic tales you would be able to tell everyone! Keep the novels coming Janet - I'm totally addicted!!!

What's a girl to do when handcuffed to her own refrigerator?
For those readers unacquainted with Stephanie Plum, she's a skip tracer, i.e. bounty hunter, working for her cousin Vinnie in Trenton, NJ. She's also a disaster magnet. So, when her latest assignment, Maxine Nowicki, who jumped bail after being charged with the theft of her estranged boyfriend's car, handcuffs Plum to the door of her own fridge, what's left to do while awaiting rescue but finish off the leftover banana cream pie, a jar of peanut butter, and a bag of baby carrots? And that's before her car explodes, her apartment is gutted by fire, and she gets raw egg in her hair.
As I work my way sequentially through the Stephanie Plum series, I stand amazed at the imagination of author Janet Evanovich ... Read More:

The return of Stephanie Plum, New Jersey's sassy and sexy bounty hunter in Twelve Sharp is a climax in the series. The book is a wonderful read and I would just repeat what other reviewers have already said. But for sheer genius, borrow or buy the unabridged Recorded Books CDs, narrated by CJ Critt. All the voices ae perfect! And there is a gem author interview at the end which I won't spoil!

I've read all twelve so far and also gave my daughter a full set for Christmas, she phoned last night to say she loved them and was on number eleven - and she laughs out loud like I did and also my friend Sharron who recommended them to me in the first place. Lets hope Janet writes several more.
