This is one of the best books i have ever read. Its plot will have you stuck to the sofa making you unable to put it down until you've gotten to the end. I wasn't sure about it at first but after starting to read i couldn't stop. I now look very forward to reading the other books in the immortal series.

This book put me off to begin with because it was the first book from the series i had read and as it started with a glossary i was like - oh here we go, but it actually turned out to be a good read. The relationship between the two characters is good and believable however i would say that from the other reviews you would not realise that the book is fairly graphic. However these scenes come in chapters almost so can be missed out if the reader desires. The view point throughout the book changes, mostly between the two main characters so you get a good understanding of the events from both charcaters perspective. I did prefer this book to the one i am currently reading in the series - A Hunger like no other, as the characters have a different ... Read More:

This was my first foray into this genre. I must say, I was initially put off by the cover as it looked like one of those novels that desperate or under satisfied women read - and to be fair...it was - as it jumped right into the passion pit within the first ten pages. BUT...it was well written with a good story line and great character development that made you understand the feelings / agendas of each individual. I liked the author's style of letting readers into the thoughts of the two main characters at important moments. I did think Emma held out a bit too long in satisfying her desires, and Lachain was a bit overly sensitive to her reluctance for a sex-starved, middle ages type Scotsman. As well, there were a couple of storylines that went ... Read More:

I've got all the books from the series though I didn't read them in order. This was actually the first one I read and peaked my interest to read more, as although it's a series, the stories stand alone.
After reading the rest of the series this one is definitely my favourite by far. One thing that Kresley Cole which is very impressive is write the story switching between both points of view. You get to know Bowen as the tortured Lykae who believes he lost his true mate years ago and has entered the Hie in order to effectively ressurect her. Then of course there is Mariketa, a 23-year old human witch who hasn't entered immortality yet and isn't aware of the extent of her powers. A major plus for me about this story is that the fated mate is NOT ... Read More:

This is the second full length novel and third story in the Immortals After Dark Series.
It opens with Kaderin the Coldhearted (Valkyrie) coming to kill vampire Sebastian Wroth. The villagers below his castle are apparently terrified of him even though he's done nothing to provoke their fear. However, it quickly becomes apparent that she is his destined Bride, and rather than kill him, she flees, leaving a somewhat disgruntled vampire behind. Their meeting has two consequences - Sebastian's heart begins to beat, and Kaderin after centuries of being an unfeeling killing machine starts to feel emotion again.
Kaderin has more important things on her mind, however. She is about to take part in the Talisman's Hie, a kind of supernatural ... Read More:

We at last get to the eldest brother "ETHAN", we learn hes been wrongly accused of a "crime", that he did not commit, scarred so badly that hes reminded every day, swearing revenge on the people that did it, the die is cast, years of hate and bitternes have built up, when finally he finds the one last person to avenge on "MADDIE" the daughter of his enemy. Not prepared for the impact she will have on his life, the feelings that she stires, the passion and longing that he has kept hidden for ten years, he plans to seduce, gain her trust and then throw her into the gutter! If only that were so easy to do. Maddie is a strong woman, life has treated her harshley but with a fighting spirit she never ... Read More:

I am surprised to be the first person to review this book. It is a wonderful book and the romance between the main characters is lovely. Very enjoyable read containing a lot of humor as well. I could not put the book down and it is a very long time I have been able to say that about a book. For those who like steamy sex scenes this book delivers. Highly recommended. I look forward to reading the other book in the series about Grant's brother.
