This volume collects tales from 1974 to 1976 and brings back a host of old foes, a few new menaces and most memorably the first appearance of Wolverine credited at the time as Canada's first super-hero, although that is open to some debate.
Returning from the past are the Abomination, Rhino, Man-Beast (featuring Adam Warlock), the Missing Link, Wendigo, Zzzax, The Gremlin and from the Hulk's distant past the Toad Men. New menaces appear in Hammer and Avil, Warlord Kaa and the Devastator and alongside them are Marvel favourites Juggernaut (featuring the X-Men), The Cobalt Man, The Inhumans, Shaper of Worlds, Moleman, Locust, Collector with the Glob and Man-Thing. Xemnu the oddly cuddly looking Titan brings back 5 of Marvel's weirdest monster magazine ... Read More:

I bought this book shortly after having a reminiscing afternoon watching youtube videos of cartoons from my childhood. 'Conan The Adventurer' brought back many fond memories, so I decided to buy the season one DVD. Managed to stumble across this book and on a whim, bought it. Up until then, I'd never heard of Robert E. Howard, never knew that there were stories from which Conan was created, barely knew there were comics, and had seen the Conan movie with Arnie a coupla times.
I've been a big fan of barbarian-type character such as He-Man, Hercules, and as mentioned, loved the conan cartoon. The book is fantastic. I am currently only half-way through it but there are so many stories. As mentioned by others, the order of the stories isn't chronological ... Read More:

a wonderful collection of early black and white conan. a bit grittier and more earthy than the stories in the colour comic. and such good value. classic art from buscema alcala and others. if i wanted to critisise i surpose that the paper quality is a bit poorer than vol.1, and it would have been nice to see all the covers in colour, but as a total value package it can't really be faulted. if you like comics, if you like conan and the writing of roy thomas you'll love this....and the price.

Another collection of early Hulk tales, this time from the early 1970's that see the Hulk off on his travels again. Starting off with his being held prisoner in Latveria by Doctor Doom. Escaping from Doom he heads South and ends up in Egypt to meet with another slice of Marvel mythology where he defeats a stone colossus before heading home via Israel. Jim Wilson returns as does Doc Samson as they try to help the Hulk as the Leader re-appears, Samson ends up losing his powers. Jarella briefly arrives from her sub-atomic world before one of the High Evolutionary's creations tries to inherit the Earth before reverting to its true form.
Guest slots from Havok and Lorna Dane follow then a briliant tale where a US senator tries to defeat his cancer with the Hulk's ... Read More:
