I haven't read any other books on VBA, but I have a basic knowledge already, and am finding the first chapter very useful. But as one of the other reviewers mentions, it throws you in at the deep end and I imagine beginners would have difficulty understanding it.
I only give it 2 stars however, because I've already spotted several errors in the code, and spelling mistakes etc in the text. It obviously hasn't been edited or proofread very well, although it doesn't take too much away from the meaning.

I am a self taught VBA programmer and as such I needed a book that would take me that much further, as well as allowing me to brush up on any basics I may have missed. This book does that in volumes. The VBA Primer at the beginning of the book is good enough to get anyone started in VBA right from the beginning, and as the book goes on it goes into more difficult tasks with plenty of sample code. The reference is concise and useful, and it makes a perfect desktop companion. In fact, the only gripe I have about it is it would have been nice to have a CD supplied with it with all the sample code on. Oh well, can't have everything!
Definately worth the money.

With its vintage coffee stains (circa 2002) and more dog ears than a Kelly Brook Calendar this little number has survived numerous contracts across the UK. I would suggest the target market would be someone who has an average understanding of Excel AND has recorded macro's in the past and messed around with a little VBA.

This is a REFERENCE BOOK and a REFERENCE BOOK only - it is NOT designed to teach VBA (though it does cover a bit at the beginning.) I liked the orders of the pages too e.g. years ago whilst flicking through RANGES brought up OFFSET and RESIZE examples that helped me rethink my entire code a rapidly solve a coding challenge; which is great considering I'd never thought of using these in the first place!
