This was bought for our seven year old son for christmas, as he has a love of jokes (what is it with boys, be it putting plastic creepy crawly spiders into beds or making rude noises in public and blaming someone else!)
Our son's favourite programme is Harry Hill's TV Burp so when I saw this book on Amazon, I told my brother-in-law that the combination of jokes and Hill go together wonderfully for a christmas present for our 7 year old. (Saying that though the age range of this book is for anyone aged 7-100, basically anyone that likes a dammed good giggle).
If you like the comedy of Mr Bean and the like then this is a joke book for you (this also includes the silly falling over sketches on a well known tv programme, ... Read More:

A great read. Very useful pneumonics and other ways to remember information. I have used a number of these with my children. An asset to any bookcase or library.

The third in the series by Louise Rennison about the fifteen year old school girl Georgia Nicholson, this is just as good as the previous two. It is in Georgia's words 'vair vair funny' indeed.
Not much has changed. Georgia is still madly in love with Robbie The Sex God and having trouble reconciling it with her desire to snog Dave The Laugh. All is as it should be in the world of teenage angst.
If this was all there was to these books they would be very tiresome by now, but for me it is the ridiculous antics of the Ace Gang at Stalag 14 or school as it is more commonly known, and the lovely relationship she has with her parents who annoy her by refusing to be middle aged and sensible, and her crazy three year old sister ... Louise Rennison never fails to bring another fantastic book full of hilariosity and randomosity just the way we like it!
As a loyal fan, I was chuckling from the outset. The drama that poor ol Georgia gets herself into is just great!! Although it wasn't much of a surprise what happened in this book, its the way I wanted it to go. Dave the Laugh is brilliant!! 'It's just a little joke mate, nothing to get your handbag out for.' And thats only a snippet of the many laughs!
Reading the Gerogia Nicholson books is a must to everyones lives!!!

In the final installment of Princess Dairies, Princess Mia Thermopolis goes through some pretty intense and stressful times that all students go through- choosing a college to go to after graduating from high school. But Mia has got more on her plate than she can deal with; she's stressed about her father's political campaign. She's worried about her repeatedly rejected novel that she has written for her final senior project, the extravagant party Grandmere is throwing her for her upcoming eighteenth birthday, and oh, the fact that Michael Moscovitz has come back from Japan, and she suddenly misses sniffing his neck when she already has a boyfriend whom she actually cares about. How will Mia solve her entangled issues in this gripping finale, and will ... Read More:

I just finished this in a day after having last read it years ago when it first came out. It isn't as good as the first or last book in my opinion but it's important for the trilogy.
As a book in its own right, I'm impressed with how well Malorie Blackman manages to convey the feelings of Sephy and Jude. I really feel like I can empathise with the characters and it's extremely moving.
I read this straight after re-reading the first in the trilogy, "Noughts & Crosses", and I found that that helped the understanding and enjoyment of "Knife Edge". I'm not sure why but I just remember not enjoying it as much the first time I read it. It might be because there's not much of a main plot in "Knife Edge".

I bought this book on the back of so many good reviews but it was unable to help me in solving my long-term issues with food.
The book contains really good information and is a worthwhile read but I don't think it's the solution for everyone.
It didn't get to the root of my psychological issues and didn't help me out of my poor thought patterns.
Try it, it may work for you, then again it may not.

This book is fast paced action and it delivers. If you're expecting an exceptional use of the english language then prepare to be disappointed. It is a fun and delicious fantasy story that combines many different elements the young girl on a quest, the oddball hero and the battle between good and evil, all used to great effect. It is not a pretentious book but a simple read no word weaving only action. But read this before bed and be prepared to have a smile on your face. I was left wishing I was Valkyrie Cain and I wanted to be 10 again so I could reenact some of the fight scenes without looking too silly.

This book is like a slightly dumbed down version of "The dangerous book for boys" I would say that it is aimed at a slightly younger market and is undoubtably good at what it does. Some of the stuff in it is just plain silly, great for the average 8 year old who after reading the page will turn to you and state very earnestly " I can climb a palm tree now". A fun book, not sure how practical the advice given in it is as most of it is never likely to get used.

Before reading the Alex Rider books, I never read spy/action stories. These books have showed me how exciting, scary and often funny Anthony Horowitz's writing is. I awaited this book with imptience and wasn't let down! It really is a wonderful action packed intelligent book!
