Not good: will I finish it? Won't I? Guess I'll have to if I want to assess fairly, but it'll be hard work. Arrogance seeps through every word and, at the end of the day, he's repeatedly hammering home one point that anyone with a degree of critical thinking will be aware of anyway.

I think this is an OK but there are to many abbreviations of words and after reading half the book it becomes very dry and uninteresting.(paint drying moments)
I am sure this book would help you move up the google rankings, but from a programmers perspective I believe you can find all you want on googles website and related forums. Think I wasted my money here.

A very interesting book, with lots of decent research and large populations being interviewed. The author presents a list of the many damning comments about the current teenagers/twenties and sets about demolishing these "myths" - and if he is right, then we have a lot to be happy about.
However, I would suggest that although these results hold well for the population interviewed (i.e. those who are literate, web-savvy, middle-class and reasonably educated), they may not be true for the population as a whole - what about the "under-class" who don't have access to the web, and who don't have the parental backing of most of his interviewees?
For the "older" generation (of which I am one, I suppose, although as a computer scientist, ... Read More:

In the book which addresses the general reader, the two capacities of the author namely the New York Time columnist and the professor of business history meld seamlessly. The book is an entertaining and easy read and often conveys an air of suspense, traits which point to the columnist. But behind the entertaining facade there looms the professor of business history with his sense of the significant in tracing the evolution of this phenomenally successful company, in analysing the unique elements that contributed to its success but also pointing to the difficulties and the occasional blunder in its path and in describing the proliferation of its activities from the initial single activity of web search to its present culmination of 'cloud computing'.

The timing of this vital read for every lawyer could not have been better. Economic downturn is accelerating the rate at which the candle of traditional legal practice is incinerating at both ends. Clients' increasing intolerance of legal uncertainty, risk and cost, and their growing need for transparency, combine to emphasize what Susskind identifies as ten technologies with the collective potential of overturning the commonly-accepted role of the practicing lawyer. The balance of power has shifted to clients, such as in-house counsel. Here, in under 300 pages, is a stream of ideas from someone long regarded as a futurologist for how lawyers can re-focus and re-apply their added value, and grow their practices - despite economic challenges - partly by leveraging emerging ... I read this book a few years ago and re-read it more recently to give me some ideas for helping some SME businesss that we work with. Although I have been a marketeer for a number of years, I still found some useful marketing ideas in this book and recommend it to my clients. I must admit that some of the suggestions may be a little strong for UK or european tastes, but all the same you find great low cost marketing ideas each time you dip into this book

Hhmm, I must say, I did not like this one very much. I think it is not a bad book at all, but it does not really deliver what it promises. At least I exspected a whole different information!
The book is really written for people who do not know ANYTHING about the internet and about marketing. It explains the plain basics about how important it is these days to have a webpage and how you can bring your business forward if you have web presence. It did not teach me anything about Internet marketing that I did not know, and I do not know much to be honest. I just started in this business of marketing, and although it is a lot of fun, I would love to have more information in a book.
This book tries to explain to much, that you really do not want to know, ... Read More:

I haven't yet sat my exam but fully expect to pass when I do. This book and the accompanying e-learning program have proved invaluable in helping me to understand what ITIL really is.

If the title seems strange wait until you start reading. What you think is a book about how social networking will change corporations begins with the medieval Popes army - The Nights Templar. Weird, but effective as it links the web2.0 revolution with historical and anthropological perspectives. The perpetual conflict between centralising institutions and horizontal networks.
The title of the book is derived from the Facebook feature of being able to throw virtual objects at your friends. It would be unfair to describe this as just another web2.0 business title as it covers how society as a whole and not just corporations is being changed and challenged by online social networks.
The book is split into 3 sections which the authors describe as I.S.P - identity, ... Read More:
