He's 7 months old, and does not cease to enjoy this book. He wants to hear it over and over again, and is always happy and excited when we read it to him. If you only get one book for your baby- get this one!

I think this is a great first for your child on the subject of colors.. It contains the 4 essential colors, blue, red, yellow and green, each color has its own 2 pages with 2 different illustrations representing the colour, you also can learn the animal names from it too! added bonus. Do add this book to your collection.

This book has beautiful pictures and it's very colourful. The book is nice and glossy, so it's easy to clean if it gets a bit dirty. The board is quite robust but not too thick, so it's easy for the baby to turn the pages themselves, as long as you raise it a bit so they can grip it. My 11 month old son loves this book. The only downside of it is that the text reads quite oddly, e.g. 'Yellow is a lemon', rather than 'A lemon is yellow'. It's like Yoda-speak, all backwards!
If you make up your own words it's 5 out of 5 and even though the text doesn't make sense the pictures alone are so attractive that it's worth 4 stars.

Elmer that coloured elephant is our 15 month old child's favourite book. We have put all of his books into a box and when we offer the box to him, again and again he chooses "Elmer's Hide-and-seek" for us to read. This book has helped us to introduce actual hide and seek with his toys and he just loves it. Our son also enjoys opening the flaps to reveal the animals beneath them - very often lifting the flap before the text has been read. Outstanding and another winner from the Elmer series.

Excellent first book. My daughter is 16 months and loves this book its always the first one picked from the book shelf.I think its the fact it is a handy size, brightly coloured and has flaps that she can lift. I love it too the rhymes are hilarious. Thoroughly recommend it.

This book has swiftly become a favourite for my two-year-old twin boys and I have read it every night for the last fortnight. It has lovely rhyming text and, importantly, adults do not get tired of it either. Highly recommended.

We got this book free in the Bookstart pack we were given by our Health Visitor when my baby was 6 weeks old. Even at this young age my son is captivated by "Happy Dog Sad Dog" thanks to the vivid colours and contrasts of the pictures. A wonderful first book that should continue to be a favourite as he grows.
I would also recommend other Sam Lloyd titles. We have "Calm Down Boris" and "Hello Dudley" which, although not quite suitable for our son yet, had both me and my husband in stitches when we first read it. As soon as baby is old enough to appreciate them, I'm sure they'll become favourite reads for all of us.

Meet Charlie and Lola in this great book! It is part of a superb series of six brilliant board books. The titles include Opposites, Colours, Numbers, Shapes, Things and Animals. All of the subjects are Pre School ones for children aged around 0 and 3.
This book is, as the title says, about Colours. Children can learn many different colours with this book. Every page has a bright and colourful picture of different types of things with a certain colour: the first is pink and it has a picture of a biscuit with pink icing. I would positively rate this book 10/ 10 even though it is not suitable for me (but it is still lots of fun to read)!
