Embarrassed by his weak father Okonkwo sets out to be become a clan leader through steely determination, hard work and plain bullying. A lot of good it does him, though. While not reaching the heights of previous Miss Silver mysteries, this is still a worthwhile entry in the series. I particularly like the way the characters are still trying to come to terms with life after World War II. Some struggling with 'normality' and having to go back to pre-established roles.
Not as well known as Agatha Christie, Patricia Wentworth is far superior.
