The crime-lord Black Mask has controlled the Gotham underworld by coming out of the last gang war in the strongest position. Now the mysterious figure of the new Red Hood is muscling in on the action but his true motives remain uncertain. Batman must now deal with the Black Mask as well as this new threat that seems strangely familiar.

This story is looking very interesting with some good action and some great twists to the plot including a certain blast from the past. The art is very good throughout and the story does have some short cameos from various other heroes and villains that, although they are slightly frivolous, are a nice addition. Having revealed himself to be the formally deceased Jason Todd, the second Robin, the Red Hood steps up his war against Black Masks stranglehold on crime in Gotham, Batman also steps up his investigations and tries to stop his former partner's murderous rampage. This is a very good story with some great action and artwork while having a funny and interesting plot. This story also includes much of Jason Todd's back-story so even people relatively new to comics should not feel lost and although the mechanism of Jason Todd's return is a bit overly elaborate it at least makes an attempt at keeping to exciting continuity. `Under the Hood' was a good story and should be enjoyable to most Batman fans.

I am not quite sure why people are up in arms about this book. It is no different to the old Tom and Jerry cartoons with the servant who kicks old Tom out all the time.

Yes it wouldn't be written today but, this is how things where perceived at the time it was written.

I have been a life long Tintin fan and was surprised on a holiday to France when I noticed 2 books that I had never seen before I was about 13. The other being Tin Tin in Moscow. My French is poor so I never bought (or got my parents to anyway) copies.

Years later I bought both while in Belgium in English Print.

The Story is typical Tintin but, in my opinion is the weakest after his Moscow adventure. Herge was still creating the character and finally ... Read More:

i bought this book a couple of weeks ago. since it's arrival to my house, i have read and read it over and over.

i am a huge fan of the show. i watch it every week and have drove my family insane watching the show as i "never shut up talking about it".
