This book is a must have for all medical students entering their clinical years. Read it early! I only discovered the gems contained within this book when my OSCE's were approaching as it had been collecting dust on the shelf and I was kicking myself that I hadn't read it earlier. Plenty of pictures and illustrations to clarify the procedures.

I was lucky enough to be given this as a birthday gift when I first got into my Family Tree. It is a really useful resource helping a beginner find their way around the wealth of info available on the web to the amateur genealogist. There is info on where to start and on the whole aray of online sources. A great book, worth the money.

Simply outstanding. The book is stunningly presented, with fantastic real world examples. I cannot recommend this book highly enough for ANYONE who does presentations either internally or externally in their organisations.

I recently attended a two-day course on Adobe Photoshop CS3 as part of my conversion to digital photography and digital imaging. At the end of that course the students were all given a copy of this book which contains a training CD Rom. As I was already booked onto the "advanced course" in 14 days time, I eagerly put the CD into my computer to practise what I had learned. Only then did I discover the CD would not work without my having first purchased and installed the full Adobe Photoshop CS3 software.
In my case, I had already ordered that software so it was only a matter of a few days delay before I could get started. Just be warned that you cannot use this product without having first installed the full software package - and that is a separate ... Read More:

This is an excellent starter for learning how to use PHP/ MySQL.
It goes along at a fair pace, and may be too fast if you don't have previous HTML and programming experience. The separate PHP for the World Wide Web: Visual Quickstart Guide (Visual QuickStart Guides)and MySQL: Visual Quickstart Guide (Visual QuickStart Guides)books in this series take this a bit more slowly, so if you're struggling they might be a good place to look.
Otherwise this will quickly introduce you to the concepts and use of both products. I'm still using this when I do some PHP programming, and other members of my team are also using it. It's excellent and the code is all available for download which avoids either losing/ scratching the CD or lots of typing.

Reputed consultant and keynote speaker David Meerman Scott hits the bull's eye with a timely, well-written and thoroughly enjoyable book that does just 'what it says on the tin'.
Full of relevant examples and in a conversational tone, Mr Meerman Scott reveals the new rules of PR and online marketing and shows how to engage in a meaningful dialogue with clients and stakeholders bypassing the traditional media stronghold on information.

I have bought a number of camera manuals over the years from Lantern guides to Hove foto books, and they have all really done little more than re-hash the camera manual. The Digital Field guide starts with the manual and simplifies it and pulls out lots of useful customisation settings on the D80. It very quickly helps you around all the key featrures of the camera, then digs deeper into some key areas of operation. It is clearly and logiclly written and with lots of clean illustrations. The latter half is made up of a lot of general photography tips and an experienced photographer may skip a lot of this section, although I have to put my hand up and admit it refreshed me on a couple of key elements around flash. If you have bought a D80 and have spent hours poring over the manual this will be ... Read More:
