I have enjoyed all the Sigma force novels from Rollin's and looked forward to this adventure with Painter Crowe and Gray Pierce.
Another strong blend of historical fact (here the Greek future-tellers of the Oracle of Delphi)embedded in a fictional plot (a resurgent Russia planning on opening up Chernobyl) with unusual characters (talented autistic children)and great locations (Taj Mahal, Ural Mountains, Kiev).
This staple formula makes a good and enjoyable read, my only critisism is that it tended to drag on a bit and lose some of the roller-coaster thrills that we expect from Rollins.
The ending tee's up a further instalment with Gray's nemesis Seichan. Can't wait.

I will be concise. If Bernard Knight wrote it, I read it and that includes his non-fiction. One is never disappointed with a "Crowner John" read and one knows that he is "right on" with his history. I look at Knight and Jecks as a team so to speak. You expect and receive excellence in writing
despite the book market these days.

I've read all of this authors books and best advice go back to what you do best, absolute rubbish, only good thing it didn't take much time to read being so short - also bought "Bloodshot" at the same time - be careful its exactly the same book as the title "Broken Skin"WHAT A CON - won't be buying anymore of this authors books or from Amazon who should've advise on this SCAM.

The premise is great, the execution appalling.
Barton starts with a great storyline, a madman abducting women, then "hunting" them on his vast estate for several weeks before finally killing them; all the makings of a terrifying book. However, Barton fails to make use of this idea and the book is slow-moving, the conversations stunted, characters boring, and it is entirely predictable. I found myself just skimming the pages to get to the end (I can never just "not" finish a book, even if it's bad).
To add insult to injury, this particular printing was full of typos, at least 6 in the first 50 pages and several dozen in the book. (Not just spelling mistakes, but also mistakes such as "Five out of four women were abducted". ... Read More:

I think that maybe this book is a show of how James Patterson is resorting to churning out new books every two months, without really coming up with a good way to end the story. I love the womens murder club series and although this one started off quite well the ending came as a disapointment. The arson cases were solved within a matter of chapters and the culprit was someone who had never really been introduced in the book before. I know a lot think that the recent stream of badly written novels is because of the two authors, but is it really just because Mr James Patterson, is losing his touch. I myself, am now turning to newer authors like Cody McFadeyen and Chris Mooney and maybe Patterson shoulkd slow down and really read the books he is writing ... Read More:

This, along with the Blood Brothers are the 1st books I've picked up by Nora Roberts and my honest opinion is WHY? I found I couldn't put them down, usually I take approx 1wk per book, read both of these within this time limit, I just can't wait for part 3. I'm not a hardened thriller reader and I suspect if you are, these are light reading for you, however I found myself absorbed and there is a love story thrown in for good measure. Excellent.

Not having read a Reilly book before, I was interested, due to his catalogue and the potential for me to "find" another author to worm through their back catalogue.
I must warn potential readers, that I was expecting for a historical "Dan Brown" style novel - this is definitely not it! This is a modern day adventure/James Bond/war book - which I generally hate!
To be fair, I think other reviewers opinion that it is badly written is harsh. The book certainly rattles on at a great pace, giving the reader barely time to draw breath and as a result I really wanted to finish it.
I must admit to loathing the long drawn out descriptions of modern weaponry, others might like it, to me it was completely superfluous to the story ... Read More:
I have read all Sue Graftons books and I think this is the best so far. I really enjoyed the story and it shows just how easy it is for someone to be a con-artist with very little effort. In a busy world people do not seem to check references as well as they should and do not want to interfere in other peoples lives even when they suspect something is not quite right. It kept me gripped all the way through and it had a great ending. I guess to enjoy Sue Grafton you should really start at A is for Alibi and work your way through to 'T' but maybe if you read this book and enjoy it you could go back. I can't wait for U if it's as good as T. is.

A very exciting read with a twisting plot that moves along steadily and has an extremely nasty villain. It might not be very arty but it keeps you hooked and gives great pleasure and a few other authors could learn a thing or two about plot pace from Mr. Patterson.

Im a fan of the whole halo series not just the games, so this book was a must for me.
Set before any of the other books or games, in short, the book is based around Sergant Johnson, who is right on the front line of the insurrection, a human civil war. He is then reasigned to the planet Harvest to train recruits. This is then the 1st planet the covenant attack.
It starts slow and you have to stick with it until it picks up pace. When the book gets into it, its an addictive read, and i felt had alot of depth to it, espeically near the end.
Its a great addition to the halo series and its nice to have a good idea of the games or other books as you find out the origin of certain things, but its by no means vital.
