This book is a collection of writings on the history of sexuality from ancient times until today. It gives a great diversity of opinion on the subject and deals with taboo issues. Nye provides a great introuction to each section, which is laid out by historical era. It is a good introduction for those studying sex and gender, but especially for literature students wishing to gain more insight into the period they are studying's morals.

this book made me cry....i couldnt put it down. the book touches subjects that question the mind; it made me feel sorry for both brian and neil, and the fact that one man scarred them for life. Scott hiem is a great writter and challenges the minds of all of his readers.

When I told a friend about this book, I said "it's very well written" and she said "Well, der! Isherwood!" and I laughed. But then I've only read Goodbye to Berlin and I was very young then, and didn't know good from bad.

It's possibly one of the most perfect little books I've read, absorbing from the first page and written in such a way that it feels like first person but it's actually written in third, astoundingly clever to my eyes. You get as easily into George's head as if it were first person.

Set over 24 hours, it simply covers his thought processes as he moves through the day and you learn a lot about him and the world in which he lives. From the first section he touches your heart as - as anyone who has suffered ... Read More:

Imagining Reality

This is the first book I've read from this writer. But let me tell you - it's not the last. Lynn Galli is an excellent writer, very good at creating 'real' persons in her fiction. The plot's great, the dialogue as well. You can't let go of this book... Also it's not too mushy, and the language is REALLY good.

So if you like more compelling writers - here's one of them. Don't let this one pass you by.

This is the first book I've read from this writer. But let me tell you - it's not the last. Lynn Galli is an excellent writer, very good at creating 'real' persons in her fiction. The plot's great, the dialogue as well. You can't let go of this book... Also it's not too mushy, and the language is REALLY good.

So if you like more compelling writers - here's one of them. Don't let this one pass you by.

I am not a chic lit type of girl, i am all about psychological thrilliers, with their fast pasted plots and gruesome storylines. But from page one i was gripped. She has such a conversational tone that it makes it a pleasure to read. Gets your heart racing at the right times and at the same time causes such frustration at misinterpretations. The characters are lovable, sincere, and so true to life you could be reading your own diary or be comforting your own friend. Definitely recommend this as a impluse buy right now book. You wont regret it!
