Mark is looking for that elusive man, the one whom he can love and build the rest of his life with, but search as he may, it seems near impossible, there is always a problem. Through fifty encounters, from one side of the world to the other the story relates his efforts, some don't even reach his front door, some get a second chance, and others might just last a brief time. Is he doomed to fail?
Nick Alexander writes perceptively, frankly and lucidly and with economy, wasting no time on florid descriptions, but quickly getting to the heart of each encounter. It all makes for a fast paced, witty, entertaining, insightful and at times moving read.
The story continues in Alexander's next novel, Sottopassaggio, which I must now read.

The only problem with this book is that it is too short!
This story is beautifully written with much respect for the landscape in which it is set. There is intrigue, deception, love, hatred and a dozen other emotions running riot between the covers of this book.
One not to be missed...

this book made me cry....i couldnt put it down. the book touches subjects that question the mind; it made me feel sorry for both brian and neil, and the fact that one man scarred them for life. Scott hiem is a great writter and challenges the minds of all of his readers.

Once again we are presented with a book which purports to be from a Chrsitian author but which simply ignores or explains away the clear teaching of Scripture. Jeffrey John, cashing in on his notoriety, has produce a volume of little interest to any genuine follower of Jesus Christ and what he actually taught, or to anyone who seeks to base their lives on Scripture and the commands of God found therein.
The one use it has, I guess, is to demonstrate how far away from the truth someone can go and still, in this politically correct madness of a world, be regarded as an expert in their field!
Don't buy it - save your money for things of God and save your time for repentance and prayer.

reccomended by a friend and I read over a few days . This author definitely knows what he is talking about when he delves into the psyche of gay men.The relationship issues, the obsession with the body beautiful, the baggage we bring from childhood and the closet. For me it stirred up a fair amount of sediment and that is no bad thing.

This was the first manga i ever bought, im so happy to see it on Amazon. ^^
On with the review.
Good news unlike some novels, all of the stories are related.
The main story revolves around the feminine Yuen and the strong Emba, its a realistic portrayal of love and hardship. Like the blurb says it revolves around prehistoric Romeos.
There are humerous points in areas which stop the plot getting over bearing, and even with some happy moments a real sense of dread is felt after an incident where i was compelled to read on. From there i was almost crying because of the happy ending...
And waaay at the end i nearly cried laughing at one of the extras.

I bought this book, with a view to a quick read , then selling on.
Not possible now as my copy is covered with underlines & notes I made in the margins!
Julia puts into words & a framework structure, many thoughts & half observations I've made about my interactions with the world, & how oppressive, restrictive & judgmental, non-trans people & society at large is.
I'm going to loan it to my parents, & hope the book together with my notes in it, give them more understanding about me.
