one of the worst things when learning an instrument is frustration, something i have experienced whilst reading other books on the subject of piano/keyboards. this book tells you how to play in plain english and goes into good depth on the basics of playing. you never feel overwhelmed.

The film was great because it was a rococo delirious ranting and raving half nightmare half dream with maybe a third half of delirium not tremens but definitely AIDS. But the play in print sounds wordy and quite often vague, vain and even void. It has probably aged though it might only have been easy and politically correctly incorrect at the time. A little bit of anti-Reagan anti-republican anti-establishment oration and a lot of banal very trite and at times humdrum conformist discourse. The trick is in bringing together blacks, Jews, Mormons, progressive snobs and popular effetes and make it all react in a high shocking half pleasing, pleasing because shocking and shocking because pleasing, situational comedy. You add homosexuality on that and ... Read More:

The Oxford Guide to Film Studies succeeds where most other film studies textbooks fail, by making the material it is focusing on accessible and engaging. Although clearly aimed at the Undergraduate Film or Media Studies student, there is much here to interest even the casual reader. The book covers almost every important area of film studies in some detail, ranging from semiotics to feminism, post-modernism to pornography, film and cultural identity to film history. This range is not only exhaustive, but each essay is written by a top lecturer or researcher in the field. Along with informed commentary and well-placed case studies/film readings, this book just can't help but educate you. Quite simply, much more than your average textbook.

This is a really good piano book, already being able to read music it takes you through everything and gives interesting exercises to practise. Its probably not best for a complete music beginner but for those who want something straight forward and easy to learn from it is just right.

This book was extremely authoritative, informative, and an excellent buy. The text covers all of the key areas of the media, with historical analysis, and current issues extensievly covered, with comprehensive analysis. It discussed the history, sociology, theory and politics of the media and is written in an engaging and fluid style. This book was definately one of my best buys for my Media Law course, and I would also recommend it to anyone with an interest in learning more about the Media.

Euripides wasn't exactly known for his light hearted approach to drama, but these are exciting plays. Short, pithy and to the point, violent, grim human dramas, the gut wrenching positions in which the characters find themselves evoke empathy even after all these centuries. Because of their humanity it saves the plays from some of the ridiculous situations and conventions that Greek drama of the day demanded, the Deus Ex Machina, the sometimes stilted chorus, the random tragic acts that just happen. It's still great drama, and that's what matters after all.

the only reason that i did not enjoy reading this book is because its very different to the current script of the musical blood brothers, there is and alternative ending in this book and only features the lyrics to one song: (marilyn monroe) the book is quite shot and misses a great deal out om the present day perfomance of blood brothers, do not buy if you are wanting to experience the laughter and great lines from the current outstanding performance of blood brothers.

Some biographies really do answer questions that have long been waiting for a serious response. This is such a book. James Robertson Justice was one of those actors we all saw in film after film, but knew little of real substance about. It's a genuine treat, therefore, to finally discover more about this remarkably complex and intriguing individual, both as an actor and as a private person. There are areas that are treated a little sketchily for my taste, but the book as a whole succeeds in providing one with a satisfyingly vivid sense of this striking figure from British cinema.
