I picked up this book second-hand in a charity shop last week and was a bit sceptical because this is obviously a book which was written many years ago. However as soon as I started reading it, like other reviewers here, I found immediate comfort and an accurate description of my symptoms and the causes of the physical sensations. My own GP has been totally unhelpful and I feel like taking a copy of this book into his surgery and urging him to recommend it to others.

This book is excellent. It is very easy to read and each chapter is easily accessable. I liked the way the chapters were put together, with each relevant blocks of information. An invaluable reference book for all student midwives. Relevant to all aspects of midwifery practice including the social and pyschological side of midwifery. Excellent....

I find this book brilliant! I have recently moved from teaching a year 1 to year a 3/4 class and I found this text so easy to use. All the objectives are laid out for each block - MOS and Main teaching. It has fabulous ideas for lessons including progression and differentiation. The only downfall is that the maths version doesn't have all the planning in word format in comparison to the literacy so you have to copy up each lesson as oppose to copy/paste then amending each one. It's still a fab buy tho!

This book is must-have text for student midwives. It is clear and unambiguous and explains the changes that occur in pregnancy in relation to normality.

Case studies are used to illustrate and develop the reader's knowledge and it is all supported by comprehensive reference lists and suggestions for further reading.

I would suggest that this book would be useful to all midwives, not just students, to enhance and maintain their knowledge and practice. I wish that this book had been in print when I was a student.

This book is evidence that you can fool quite a lot of people quite a lot of the time. There is not a single original idea in it, and Fennel's beliefs arise out of an interpretation of wolf behaviour that is entirely false. If you want the relationship with your dog to be based on oppression and frustration then this is the book for you, otherwise read something else.

I've just passed all three of the QTS skills tests today, and I know Iwould not have been able to do the ICT test without this little book. Ithas all you need to know, and is very accessible. The book explains thebasics you will need to know, providing many examples and practicequestions. Highly recommended for any trainee teacher as the book willreinforce your existing skills and help you to gain new ones, giving youthe confidence to take, and pass, the QTS skills tests.

I purchased this book roughly 6-7 weeks before the actual mathematics exam, thinking that it was too late to revise the majority of the year 9 curriculm. But I found it simple, fun and easy to understand because of its unique teaching methods. For instance it had useful pictures, strange jokes and questions at the end of each chapter to test your knowledge. All of which proved to be extremely helpful, due to the amount of time I had to revise.
