This book is recommended by the Bristol PGCE. The book is ok, with some useful information - but it is quite dull. I did find it useful when writing all the essays for the PGCE course.

I am a mature student and was advised to buy this when I started my Access to HE course many years ago. I dutifully went and bought it alongside The Good Study Guide by Andrew Northedge and I have to say that this book is worth its weight in gold compared to the book by Northedge. This is not a comparison so I shall move on to say that every aspect of study - whether its organizing your time, planning backwards from deadlines, learning how you study best or even looking at personal development is covered in this excellent resource. It is designed in a user-friendly way which allows you to either read it all the way through or dip in and out of it depending on your needs.The book is designed in a clever way with charts, pictures, examples etc ... This book is particularly useful for those doing any teaching degree, but particularly for those who are doing the Ba ed primary teaching with QTS. This book has a range of information on giving knowledge and understanding to those who wish to find out about all the different components of teaching primary English. Such topics that are covered include spellings, early writing, shared writing of fiction and non fiction and aspects of reading, listening and speaking and grammar. This will help any teaching student in their assignments on the teaching of English to primary schools. This book was a fantastic find, as I thought i was lacking a little in general Science subject knowledge. This is by far the most thorough and descriptive book that includes everything you need to know about each individual topic and what each Key Stage needs to know. It gives questions to answer whilst reading down the margin, along with a self-assessment at the end of each chapter to check understanding. This book was very useful to me as a student, so I believe this will be the same to any student worrying about having a sufficient knowledge of the Science Curriculum. This is the 3rd edition, fully revised for the new 2007 Standards. WOW!

While the topic of this book is interesting and the authors do well in presenting each type of analysis / data fallacy with interesting examples anyone who can remember any maths from school should find this very basic and really not worth their time.

I love it! The children in my class love it!

It is full of literacy starters and games to get children thinking. It fits really well with the Ros Wilson 2020 / Big Writing and the Literacy Hour.

I wouldn't be without it.

I CANNOT SPEAK HIGHLY ENOUGH OF THIS BOOK. THIS TRULY IS A LIFE CHANGING BOOK!

I have read many books on spirituality but this book is still my favourite.
My advice - If you are new to the concepts introduced in this book then, please just be patient and openminded to explore a different belief system. Then see what it can do for you :)

If I have learned nothing else from my experiences with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia, I have come to understand the need to educate myself about my health issues. Often health care professionals simply don't have the knowledge of how to help my symptoms. Unless they specialize in these conditions, they simply can't keep up with the bulk of current research.
