Dawkins is excellent while he sticks to biology
however he may have lost the plot in the last chapter
as he has in thinking promoting science involves attacking
religion
If an evangalist is someone who does not leave people to work
it out for themselves but pushes his point of view Dawkins is one
Nutty Baptists and Dawkins looked similar on channel 4 for example
ie they both spin world events too far to promote a point of view

Lives up to the high standard set by the previous editions & moves on from them. Now in two volumes which means that it is lighter & easier to use. The free extra book is also a very useful resource. I would highly recommend this to any Paramedic students out there.

Taking the book with me on the bus or at the Waitrose checkout or at the barbers shop or Sussex University its title attracts attention. In the brief encounters which follow I enjoy speaking to parents whose infants obviously enjoy what's going on with the adults. I'm able to affirm that the love care and attention they give the child in those early years do make a difference and will set her up for life. To older people, and I am elderly, I speak of the 'forgiving space' that Sue Gerhart gives me in which to understand my chequered life. As Kierkegaard said 'Life must be lived foward, but it can only be understood backwards.'

Here at PPL Training in York we used to use the old JTL Level 2 plumbing book for our City & Guilds NVQ level 2 courses. This lastest book combines both the NVQ side and the tech cert (6129) side, which is a good step forward as BOTH qualifications must be taken to gain a NVQ 2 in Plumbing.

The book is clearly laid out with individual chapters on the course structure. Errors from the previous versions have been corrected and along with clear colour diagrams makes this book suitable for both young and old alike. We at PPL train a mixture of age groups and find this book a very valuable reference and learning resource.

Jolly Phonics Word Book (Jolly Phonics)

I have been very keen to teach my son the letters of the alphabet but wanted to do it the right way. Having visited his school he will be attending next year, they do follow the Jolly phonics scheme and therefore these books have been great along with the work books. It's given me the confidence to teach and he has enjoyed the colourful pictures and tracing with his finger the letters. We are now moving on to book three after he has managed to read and write the letters in books one and two. Being a working parent and mum to a one year old aswell we are only able to do learning for an hour on a friday so these short to the point books are great. I have found this textbook really helpful in my studies. The full audio version on the CDROM, is great for remembering all the muscles and other difficult body parts all my class mates struggled on.

I would say if you are studying Anatomy and Physiology as part of your course, get this book.
