For those who want to expand their knowledge and abilities with dog leadership skills this book provides valuable tools for achieving that goal. Every episode from Cesar Millan's first 3 series of 'The Dog Whisperer' is reviewed and analysed. This in depth analysis helps to make very real the method which Cesar uses.
Unlike 'dog training' Cesar and others who follow the 'pack system' focus on creating harmony and balance in our dogs. We use our dog's natural and hard wired instincts to create change which allow them to 'be themselves'. This method helps to meet our dogs needs rather than us just getting our needs met when we get love and affection from our dogs.
This book allows us to get a much deeper understanding ... Read More:

I guess I'm one of those people that likes to understand the how and why of everything I do. Therefore, whenever I workout, I find myself wondering about the purpose of each particular exercise. Am I actually working, strengthen, or stretching my muscles in a way that is beneficial to my body or am I just wasting my time? Am I doing the exercises correctly or am I setting myself up for an injury? Perhaps that's why I love the Anatomy series from Human Kinetics. They have a number of different books that take a deeper look at Stretch Training, Stretching, and Yoga exercises.
Yoga Anatomy has full coloured pictures of the body for a wide variety of movements: breathing, standing poses, sitting poses, kneeling poses, supine poses, prone ... Read More:

When we were given this book on our essential reading list I thought man, that book's expensive, I have another physiology book do I really need it. Well it's worth every penny! You know how it is you buy some books and they look good on the shelf and gather dust, not this one, it was so useful as a quick reference and for sheading light on topics I was clueless about.
It has handy tables for quick cramming moments and good diagrams.
The student online info is very good also - you can access the book online saving carrying it around with you.
I'm certainly glad I bought this book, it was very user friendly in layout, I won't be selling it for sure.

I bought this book for my final year and it's proved a really useful book to have. Not only is it a lot cheaper from Amazon but it's a lot smaller than the previous editions with a lot of the clinical nutrition taken out. it also comes with a cd-rom which contains a lot more in-depth reading, should you wish to know more. I've only just started my final year and already i've used it for various modules.
This book is great if you're a nutrition student rather than a dietetic student as a lot of the clinical information has been removed. An invaluable tool for anyone with an interest in nutrition and its related topics.

not only will this help you to grow healthier, tastier and stonger fruit, veg and house plants, but once you get the hang of it you can generally predict the weather better than the BBC. Its been spot on for my last 2 holidays in Cornwall and it gets Glastonbury festival right every year.

I was recommended by my lecturers to buy this book for my maths module in the first year of my physics degree. I found that the book is not intuitive, has an ugly appearence (which doesnt motivate the reader to work at the subject) and, most importantly, explains the methods in question very poorly. As an example, I spent three hours trying to figure out how the book had worked through an integration question, only to find later that the problem had arisen simply because the book had skipped an important step, that wasn't at all obvious. This was the day before an exam to really rub salt in the wound.
I found that the book makes a song and dance of obvious ideas, and simply skims over the more complicated steps in new ideas.

TA Today is a current textbook for Trainee Transactional Analysts. The book provides a well structured introduction to TA, that is easily read, and covers all the main areas of TA theory. A great feature of this book is the examples and exercises included. I look forward to the next revision.
