After sometime of looking for a reading about quantum theory and relativity and after trying to read few books, I can tell now: I understand quantum theory and relativity. Previously, I tried some books but always the reading was so in the sky. This book lands all these complex concepts through simple examples giving you a clear view of the wonders that are hidden from our daily lives but keep our world running together.

I am still amazed with how well written and pleasurable to read this book is. Botany can be quite complicated at times, and I will not say that this book hasn't had at least one or two topics that didn't interest me at first (such as genetics), but once you start reading it you really feel hungry to read more.
It is written in a way that almost feels like reading a novel. I am going to read it again as I found that writing notes were distracting me away from the pleasure of reading the book itself. It also makes me wonder why when I was at schoool they didn't teach us all those interesting things the book so easily and magnificently tours us about. Wow, I have learnt so much!
In a nutshell, it feels like you are a reading ... Read More:

This book is very easy to follow and helped me greatly during my degree. It is Much Much better than "Engineering mathematics by K.A Stroud" which was on my reading list (and is now an expensive door stop)

I was hugely disappointed with this book - particularly with the photography of the finished dishes - it's redolent of the quality you'd find in a 1970's cookbook - the food looks totally unappetising.
I love cookery books and looked forward to this arriving but can honestly say I'll be lucky to use 2-3 recipes if that. Uninspiring with an over reliance on a few ingredients.
Sorry, but wouldn't recommend this to anyone who really enjoys cooking.

I was never a fan of maths at school. It did not come easily to me and I failed to see the relevance of trigonometry to my everyday life.
I say this so you realise I am not some sort of science geek who was best friends with a calculator. That's because I found this book absolutely fascinating. It made me laugh 3 times in the first 20 pages alone!
What Simon Singh does is through Fermat's puzzle describe the history of mathematics from Pythagoras right up to the 1990's. To the layman names like Euclid put in the mind very dull old guys, but they are brought to life with fascinating anecdotes. For example there's the tortured young French mathematician Galois who is dead by 20, his final mathematical theories frantically scribbled down ... Read More:

This book is excellent, not only is it very funny but very illuminating as to how the NHS works now.
As a Conservative Councillor it grieves me to say where Labour have got it right but pulls no punches on where it has gone wrong.
I'd recommend every politician or who people who need to use the A& E department to read this book.
I happily recommend for anyone who enjoys a good read but wants to learn something as well.

This book is a real 'bible' for a student and others practicing sports medicine as a career. I referred to this book on several occasions during a clinical placement and consequently purchased my own copy to enhance my learning. You will not be dissapointed with a purchase, TOP BOOK.

This pocket sized book is an absolute gem for the new/ student physiotherapist. It is packed full of the basic (and some more advanced) facts that you learn and put in to practice during early lectures and placements. In fact i'm sure it's a handy reminder even for experienced physiotherapists every now and then. The plastic cover and size make the book both convenient and hard wearing and therefore ideal to keep in your pocket and use day to day. The layout into Respiratory, Neurological, Pharmacology and Musculoskeletal sections make for easy referencing and finding facts quickly and efficiently. This is aided further by the appendices and clear diagrams and illustrations. Colour coded text high lighting titles from facts makes for easy browsing and information finding. Anatomy, ... This book will never win a prize for literary content, but if you're going to get serious about Portable Appliance Testing it's this season's must have and it will get you through the C&G exam. Somewhat expensive (hence 4*s) - to be expected maybe? - electrical engineers are probably not best known for their writing skills so there must be a rarity premium. Tells you what you need to know and lots of stuff you don't - hardcore information and good for insomnia too. The Amazon combo deal including this title and "PAT - Portable Appliance Testing: In-service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment" by Brian Scaddan is excellent and gives you the only two documents you really need. Well worth the money.
