I was told about this book by a collegue. I started reading it thinking I would read the book but never stop. As I read it I found myself having less and less desire to smoke.

The book was very repetative and at times it would have been easy to stop reading. I continued to the end of the book and have now been a non smoker for over a year.

In that time I have had cravings but but most of the time I am just thankful that i don't smoke anymore.

When we were given this book on our essential reading list I thought man, that book's expensive, I have another physiology book do I really need it. Well it's worth every penny! You know how it is you buy some books and they look good on the shelf and gather dust, not this one, it was so useful as a quick reference and for sheading light on topics I was clueless about.

It has handy tables for quick cramming moments and good diagrams.

The student online info is very good also - you can access the book online saving carrying it around with you.

I'm certainly glad I bought this book, it was very user friendly in layout, I won't be selling it for sure.

I was never a fan of maths at school. It did not come easily to me and I failed to see the relevance of trigonometry to my everyday life.

I say this so you realise I am not some sort of science geek who was best friends with a calculator. That's because I found this book absolutely fascinating. It made me laugh 3 times in the first 20 pages alone!

What Simon Singh does is through Fermat's puzzle describe the history of mathematics from Pythagoras right up to the 1990's. To the layman names like Euclid put in the mind very dull old guys, but they are brought to life with fascinating anecdotes. better than the spiral bound version because it lasts longer and is a better size. Great detail of all aspects. Amust have for every household.

I used this book as a student and it helped me familiarise myself with basic ECG interpretation to a level acceptable for a student, but to move forward takes experience on the wards seeing real ECGs of real patients. A good starting point but by no means comprehensive. I understood the cardiac axis better before I read this book, but maybe that's just me.

This is an excellent undergraduate and postgraduate level introductory text for ecologists.
i purchased this book as a recommended text for an MSc in Ecology and have found it invaluable.
the chapters on community ecology are particularly well written. the whole text is underpinned with valid citation and useful references for further reading.
all in all an excellent purchase!

This is an excellent text - just what you actually need from a text book. Thorough coverage of the subject area, written from an academic perspective, yet readable enough for a student (or anyone else for that matter) to be able to actually LEARN from it!

Make sure you buy at least two copies as you'll be lending this to other folks to use as well and will not see it back. A superb aid in teaching and learning. Highly recommended.

As the title suggests, the book is a step by step guide to Office Project 2007. It walks you through all of the different aspects of Project that a new or intermediate user could be expected to know or benefit from. It also provides a number of "tips" where a more advanced or enquiring user may want to find further information. The layout and structure of the book is very good, which could reasonably be expected, with "Chapters at a Glance", "Summaries of topics covered", "Key points" and very clear formatting to help the reader/user.

As a previous user of an older version of Project, I bought the book as both a refresher to Project and an introduction to the new 07 version. It has certainly delivered on both these counts. However, I would imagine that if I need ... Read More:

Having met my daughter's maths teacher who showed me this book to be the foundation of her teachings to all the children in Year 3 (7/8 year olds) I knew that this, together with Books 1,2,4,5 & 6, would be the ideal support for homework assistance. Until I bought this from Amazon, I had no guidelines at all and didn't know if the arithmetic I was 'teaching' at home was too hard, too easy or just plain useless. Now with this book I have the perfect assistant, because I know that the specific topics covered and the level of difficulty is exactly matched to what my daughter is studying at school, so it's an excellent revisionary tool, and it's even enjoyable too!
