I am not sure if the subject effects the content, but this was not the best pop up book in the series.

It just did not seem as imaginative or fun as the previous books.

Still a great learning tool for children though - for fun or for reference.

My 13 month old loves this book and have to read it to her atleast 5-6 times morning and night - there is a whole stack of books in her room - but this is the one she always picks first. Great follow on from Dear Zoo.

Diggers (Lift and Look)

My 18-month old twin nephews received this book for Christmas. On the strength of 'Diggers' we also purchased 'Farms' and 'Trucks' for my daughter. The books are beautifully illustrated, especially the scenes behind the 'lift the flaps'. The hard books are also sturdy enough for corners to be chewed. The flaps are also easy for small fingers to lift and there is plenty of action happening on each page to keep little ones engaged. I was concerned the trucks, diggers and trains theme might be too 'boy' biased, but my little girl loves them! A highly recommended purchase.

Elmer that coloured elephant is our 15 month old child's favourite book. We have put all of his books into a box and when we offer the box to him, again and again he chooses "Elmer's Hide-and-seek" for us to read. This book has helped us to introduce actual hide and seek with his toys and he just loves it. Our son also enjoys opening the flaps to reveal the animals beneath them - very often lifting the flap before the text has been read. Outstanding and another winner from the Elmer series.

This is a beautifully illustrated publication and heavy duty with the ring bound hard cover.

I bought this for my (2 year old) son but can see that there is a lot in it that will be more suited to him when a little older - this said there is plenty of inspiration and as much a gift for a parent as a child as it helps direct your own creativity to bring out more from your child...Some ideas aren't rocket science but do expand ideas to give some cool results, for example, developing the idea of blow-paint pictures to a collage of blow-paint monsters. There is a lot of guidance about how to draw as well, from the simple (e.g. finger pictures) to the slightly more advanced (e.g. how to sketch a cartoon cat).

I bought this for my son when he was about 8 months old - he's now nearly 3 and still adores it. It's definitely his favourite book ever, he insists we read it every day and simply never seems to tire of it, and always finds new things to look at or talk about.
It has led us to discover the world of Apple Tree Farm books - they are enchanting and seem to fascinate all young children.
Definitely well worth the money!

The Harry Potter Golden Snitch Kit (Miniature Editions Kit)

I bought this, with the time turner stickers, for my daughter. She thought she was just getting stickers, so when she found the model of the snitch with its little stand, she was delighted. The snitch wings are rigid silvered plastic and push into two little holes on the golden snitch. Deathly Hallows enthusiasts could write "I open at the end" on it, in Dumbledore's neat script.
