I was given this book by a teenage collegue, who said this was a great read and as I'm in my late twenties was fairly sceptical. It certainly prove me wrong. I really enjoyed this book and just before i finished it, i bought the next in the triology. I saw the film after i had read the book and the film disappointed. It is not a patch on the film. Read this book instead of watching the film!

This book is an essential companion for studying A-level Biology. The pages are in full colour with relevant, clear illustrations; the language used is extremely easy to understand. Whenever I did not quite understand a topic, once I looked it up in this textbook it usually all became clear.
One thing I would say that it can be a little simplistic in its treatment of some topics, so that you are best advised to consult another textbook to use in conjunction with this one. The best method (I found) is to approach a new topic with this book to get the general idea, then check against more detailed (and perhaps less user-friendly) books/websites for depth once you have the foundations.

Recently Natsuki Takaya has dealt with the relationships of some of the supporting characters... and now it's back to the main trio.
And the nineteenth volume of "Fruits Basket" focuses on Tohru's growing feelings for Kyo, even as she struggles to free him from his curse -- and the scorn of the other zodiac members. Though there are some funny moments (mostly from the wonderfully wacky Ayame) growing romantic feelings and past regrets are littered all through these chapters.
Heartfelt talks take up a lot of space -- when Shigure tells Tohru about the approaching "last banquet" and the cat's place, she is left struggling with her torn feelings. Kyo has a chat with her kindly grandfather about Tohru, and remembers his own ... Read More:
The Tale of Peter Rabbit was written in 1900 and has stood the test of time very well. Generations of children have loved the story of Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddle-Duck among others and treasured the books of Beatrix Potter. It is up there among the greats of children's literature with Wind in the Willows, The Water Babies, Peter Pan, Treasure Island and many others.
In these days of computer games and electronic toys of one kind or another, books sadly are sometimes not as high on the list as they were a few years ago, perhaps that is why literacy in schools is not all that it could be. Personally as a child books were always my first love and Christmas would not have been the same without a Rupert annual.

Well, i HAVE read this book and in fact have just bought my second copy, the first went missing after lending it to a scottish friend! I think all of Terry Pratchetts books, childrens or older, are brilliant and this definately does not dissapoint. Set on the discworld with some reference to previous characters this book will leave you desperate to buy the two others in the series and you will no doubt find yourself reading them again and again.
So buy it now and laugh your socks off!

I am currently studying on the EdExcel science GCSE course, and I have to say, the quality of this book is appalling. Don't get me wrong; I enjoy "science", but this book it just dreadful.
Personal complaints:
1. Book content doesn't always match the exam. Often the exam asks about things which havn't even been mentioned in the book, or have been quashed in a little table to the side and made to look unimportant when actually it is important to learn.
2. Random pictures on many pages irrelevant to the topic, or have been bashed together poorly. For example, there's a picture on a page of some random guy, and the caption under it is something like "X cares about X". They may as well have gone round London for a day taking photos ... Read More:

As I was reading this book I got the impression it was written for children, but it would have been an insult to even a young child.
There was no depth to the characters for you to feel sympathy for them. It was also not at all related to the real world of refugee's and prejudices.
Sorry, It could have been a really good story, and did get my full attention in the opening chapter, but lost it's way in the telling.

This is the only CGP book which I think doesn't do its' job fantastically. The book does not go into enough depth at all. It lacks enough Bible teachings - something which is required to pass the exam! Many topics are totally missed out, and the book didn't provide me with any help in remebering things for the exam.
Students beware! Many exam boards such as OCR have split the Christianity Religious Studies syllabus up into different courses, and you normally only study one course. This book tries to cover all the courses in a small amount of space and fails.
I don't understand why CGP had to release it with Islam and Judaism, as I wasn't even studying these, and it is a waste of money for me. I would expect CGP to release revision guides for all ... Read More:
