It really is a classic that I think will survive a long time. It's not challanging and very sweet and on the whole very enjoyable.
I read it in one evening when I when I had the flu in bed and it kept me entertained so much that I finished it! Every girl should read it and even teenage girls like me!

I ordered this book for my son who is 5 and in-between picture books and older books that have 'no colour on them so they must be boring' books.
They really appealed to his sense of humour and had us roaring with laughter. Now he likes to read during the day as well as at bedtime and my husband and i fight over who is going to read to him. Hilarously funny and i reccommend them to any adult or child who enjoys a really good laugh.

A revision guide which makes English grammar fun.

I'm a big fan of the CGP study guide series, and the KS 2 English Study Book is no exception. Our 10 year-old has worked her way through it with enthusiasm. The colourful, well-designed pages and humour make the book a surprisingly enjoyable read.

Although this book is aimed at English schoolchildren, I should have thought its comprehensive and comprehensible sections on grammar and usage (eg "When to start a new paragraph"; "Writing a formal letter") would be useful background reading for any student of the English language.

Having met my daughter's maths teacher who showed me this book to be the foundation of her teachings to all the children in Year 3 (7/8 year olds) I knew that this, together with Books 1,3,4,5 & 6, would be the ideal support for homework assistance. Until I bought this from Amazon, I had no guidelines at all and didn't know if the arithmetic I was 'teaching' at home was too hard, too easy or just plain useless. Now with this book I have the perfect assistant, because I know that the specific topics covered and the level of difficulty is exactly matched to what my daughter is studying at school, so it's an excellent revisionary tool, and it's even enjoyable too!
