After the dissapointment of "Ultimate War" this book really got me interested in the Ultimate X-Men story again. This is probably the best of the books since the first one. The reason for this is that the story gets itself back on track and each characters own story is given care and attention. The relationships between Magneto and Professor X and Wolverine & Cyclops are excellent. The artwork in this book is excellent as well. There was occassions in earlier books, particularly Ultimate War where I got confused as to whats happening. There are no problems of that sort with this one. All in all a great came back to form for the Ulitmate X-Men.

I started reading C&H from this one and now have the complete collection. I rank this one at the top, (alongside the tenth ann collection). Another reason is that it contains some of the poetry work by Watterson. I am a fan of his poetry too. Sounds similar to my own...

I do not really like the early Tintin adventures where there is a lot of slapstick and every other page our intrepid reporter hero is either holding a gun or having somebody hold a gun on him as much as I do the later adventures where the emphasize is on character humor and cultural details. However, "The Black Island" is certainly the epitome of this type of Tintin adventure. Hergé really pours it on pretty much from start to finish. This might be slapstick but it is nonstop slapstick from Tintin trying to stop the Thom(p)sons from arresting him to Snowy getting the better of a gorilla (but not a spider). The Black Island was published as a black & white book in 1938, then in 1943, the very same B/W drawings were coloured with only one frame added. Then, in 1965, on his British publishers' request, Herge had to re-draw the whole book modernizing and changing every frame, creating the common book we grew up with. In this 1943 original, you get to see the all-Herge vision of Tintin's deeds in Britain, unlike the 1965 version which was largely drawn by his associates in "Studio Herge".

This adventure was created while the clouds of war were gathering over Europe, and Herge did not miss that. Tintin goes to Britian after a money counterfeiting gang headed by a man called Müller, and although Müller's nationality was never mentioned candidly ... Read More:

This manga is extremely similar to dragonball, it has the same kind of plot set up. A boy looking for a treasure, and on the way meeting tons of likeable characters. The art is somewhat unique but suits the manga well. I think Naruto resembles alot of characteristics of this manga, 2 teenage boys wanting to be the best and not letting anything get in their way.

To sum it up, Brilliant. The plot is entirely original but the way its written is inspired by dragon ball and inspired Naruto.

One piece is destined to be KING OF THE MANGAS!

Bleach: v. 4

This fourth volume of the excellent Bleach series is slightly more comedic than the previous volumes. The volume begins with a day in the life of Kon which sees him run away but find that the world isn't quite as friendly as he had hoped. After this the main plot of this volume starts up with a popular spiritualist show coming to town that threatens to upset the local ghost population.

As I have already stated this is something of a light hearted volume with the Kon story being quite funny and Don Kanonji's spiritualist show that is not only funny but also thoughtful. As well as this, this volume also includes some good action sequences and some more information on the nature of spirits and how they become Hollows. The volume also finishes on something ... The Secret of the Unicorn (The Adventures of Tintin)

First off, be forewarned that "The Secret of Unicorn" is only the first half of a two-part Tintin adventure, which is concluded in "Red Rackham's Treausre." So do not get all bent of shape when you get to the end of this 1943 adventure and Tintin looks out and you and tells you to find out what happens next in "Red Rackham's Treasure."

As our story opens, the Thompsons are trying to solve a rash of pockets being picked and Tintin decides to buy on impulse a model of an old galliard ship.
