Have just bought this book as a gift for my friend's little girl as there is a new baby brother in the house. If I had seen this book in the shop I wouldn't have bought it as it is very American. Words like 'Mommy and diapers' and an assumption that all kids eat is pizza!

I'm sure children like the book and enjoy the pictures but I would feel the need to change at least one word on every page whilst reading the story to them. I'm thinking of returning the book as I'm concerned my friend will think I've bought something that isn't appropriate.

I bought this book for two of my god-daughters and they both loved it so much! Both mums told me that the children even slept with the book!
This book is much needed for little Black girls, not just here in the UK, but worldwide as it is a rare book which teaches self-acceptance through images as well as words.

I purchased this book thinking it was just another book when my son was 6 months old and it wouldn't get looked at like numerous others. My son loves it and passes it to me every single day. I know the pages inside out as does he. He touches the pages in the right place and his face lights up when he touches the right touchy parts on the page. Teaches colours and touch and there is a little mouse on every page to find. I guess it would also help with reading but my son is only 14 months and a bit young for that yet. I have 3 other titles in the range and would recommend them to any parent that is prepared to read to their child. You have to buy more because there is only so much of the same book you can take!!!!

I love this book, simple stories full of meaning that your little one will understand, the pictures are wonderful with so much detail. My daughter and I love looking at just the pictures and the book could be enjoyed without any words but of course the words make the it wonderful.

I came across Katie Morag and her family at our local library when choosing books with my then 3 year old daughter. Since then her world has become part of ours and we now have a vast collection of stories about life on Struay. This book contains four stories which are easily understood by younger childen as well as the 5-7 year old age bracket they appear to be aimed at. Children will love how Katie Morag is deliciously naughty and adults can laugh at the tongue in cheek humour which the author displays well in Grannie Island and Grannie Mainland's underlying rivalry. Although the main character is female, boys as well would be able to relate to her, as she is a bit of a tomboy and the series of books also includes her "big boy cousins" ... Read More:

I bought this book for my Grandson's seventh birthday as one of a collection of gifts. He loves SpongeBob.

But please be aware that it isn't a reading book, but an activity book. A few pages to colour, and some activities such as word search and a code breaker.

I would say that the age group is from 3 to 6 or 7 if they like SpongeBob. An adult can always help with the words. But it's not interesting or challenging, and there's no story.

No doubt the children will love the tatoos! I hope Jimmy does. :-)
