This is a wonderful art book giving excellent step-by-step instructions on how to draw faces. There are many styles to choose from, and the great thing is that using the Usborne web link you can print or download outlines to colour in. As an ex-art student I think that any one of any age would find this book useful!

This book is divided into 3 parts, with each part divided into chapters and sections:- Part A) Foundations i.e. a bridge from GCSE to start of A level course. Part B) Fundamentals i.e. roughly AS level. Part C) Further chemistry i.e. A2 level. Some of the topics introduced in part B are further developed in part C. Part B is easier than Part C, both in presentation and content. Overall the book has less detail than say Chemistry in Context by Graham Hill, but explains the material and ideas very well. The book has good diagrams and pictures and use of colour, plus 'chemistry now' and 'further focus' boxes that extend the material. A useful box at the start of each chapter 'concept checkpoints' points to other sections in the book that are required ... Read More:

This beautifully designed and illustrated book is a real classic. A brief and compelling outline of the author's philosophy is followed by a series of games that help young people (of all ages!) see, feel, hear and touch nature in new ways that sensitise, educate and excite.
Despite its 'age' there are millions of young people who would find most of the games new and inspirational.

I bought this book to help my children learn about stranger danger. In my opinion it is completely unusable and I'm sending it back. It is full of waffle, there are 100 or more words where the author could have used 10 and I feel the text is confusing and rambling.
This text might suit children of 7 or 8 years old but the pictures are more suitable for children of 3 or 4 although I think the words are not particularly helpful though, even to an older child.
By the time children are old enough to understand the rambling text, they're far too old for it's message and would be well briefed on the subject matter already; my young children were bored within seconds and didn't understand the words anyway.
