A great book for fun activities all year round. As soon as i saw it in the bookshop i loved it, and still do to this day, love it, love it, love it!If you like this but want something even better, try the great big glorius book for girls. By the way, i LOVE the illustrations!

I bought this cookbook for my 14 year old twin sons, who have always enjoyed cooking alongside me, but never attempted anything on their own before.
They both instantly loved this book, saw lots of things that they fancied cooking, but, unlike many other cookbooks, felt confident enough to give them a go.
My sons are very dyslexic, but they found the layout easy to follow and the pictures useful.
These are not groundbreaking recipes, or even the best renditions of well-known dishes, but they work fine, are well illustrated and introduce young cooks to a range of techniques in a very straightforward, jargon free way.
There are also (from my point of view) helpful comments on diet and nutrition, delivered ... Read More:

This revision guide summarises clearly and concisely all the science you need up to and including Year 9, with sections on Life Processes, Materials and Physical Processes. And it's great for learning because it explains everything in an entertaining and accessible format (check out the cold polar bear and the elephant in stilettos!). Our children have worked steadily through it preparing for exams, and the pages are getting dog-eared.
Conclusion: a comprehensive and well-written guide to KS3 Science. Wish we'd had books like this when I was at school.

To be honest, I disagree this book is better than the text book published by Cambridge. Although this book does have nice diagrams and all, it overlooks some information on the organic section, i.e. it does not mention the catalyst required for the nitration of nitrobenzene (H2SO4).
I did not like the entire section on unifying cocepts at all because I found it very confusing, the book gave lots of equations on calculations, but did not make clear what they were.
The book is ok on trends and patterns, nothing bad, nothing special. But it does a brillant job on explaining lattice enthalpy.

We bought this book for our daughters' 1st birthday last month. This book is ideal especially for this age group where they are learning and recognising animals. There are real photos and also drawings of each animal which helps children to understand. Our daughter had only ever seen a toy duck or drawing so to have a photo has helped her understand. There are also simple explainations of the animals and what they do. I would thouroughly recommend this book to any parent with a child of 6 months plus.

There is something annoying about this young man, his relatives and his friends - just a bit too perfect like the Waltons - but you can't fault the recipes. We have used them constantly.

I am twelve years old. When I got a keyboard, I wanted to learn how to play it. So I got this book and followed it page by page until I had finished it. Now I can play a lot of music. I don't think you will find a book much better than this one for learning how to play the piano or any keyboard instrument.

I have to say of all the editions that have been created for the 100 lessons this is the best one by far. It matches up to QCA precisely. It almost gives you 2 years worth of work which for me in a mixed age class helps significantly.
If the other subjects 100 lessons are as good as this in the future my planning would be made alot easier.

If you already have the old version of this then think carefully about whether you want to buy this version as very little has changed. Yes most of the worksheets are now differentiated to some degree, however, it tends to be the literacy based worksheets and there are very limited ideas for SEN. I did find the CD ROM useful as this meant I could display many of the worksheets on the IWB and discuss them. However, diagrams are still very basically drawn and graphing tool is pretty rubbish (better idea to incorporate this into an ICT lesson anyway)
Was quite disappointed by the lack of fresh thinking in it and cross curricular links. Also there seems to be very little excitement and WOW effect in the experiements

I haven't played any musical instruments since I took flute and piano lessons in school. I had forgotten everything about playing an instrument and hadn't a clue how to read music.
So I decided to go back to the very beginning and learn how to play the humble school recorder again. This book is amazing. In less than two days it had me reading simple music and playing simple tunes. Everything is explained simply and clearly and has exercises to help you remember what you have learned.
I recommend this to anyone wanting to rekindle theri passion for music ... you'll be playing in no time.
