It is winter and it is snowing. All through the evening, Percy gets knocks from various different animals and they all want to share the bed. The problem is the bed is too small for them all. How will all of the animals and Percy get through the night? Find out in this book... I really, really, really like Percy the Park Keeper adventures (and have got four of the books) and would definitely and positively rate this book 8/ 10. I would absolutely strongly recommend it to everyone who likes Percy the Parker as well! Nick Butterworth has done a great job with all of the books - so I look forward to read and review other of his books!

Simple touchy feely book, with big thick board pages and a different texture on each double page and the cover. Each page has a different bear on it (2 pandas, a koala on the cover, a polar bear, honey bear and grizzly) as well as the little mouse to look for every time. The text reads, for example "That's not my bear!.... Its tongue is too scratchy!" until the last page, when you finally find your own bear!!
My 1 year old enthusiastically feels each texture and turns the pages, and wants to read this one over and over again. His first word? "Bear"........
When you get bored of this one (which will happen way way before your baby does), try one of the others in the series. We also have "That's not my dinosaur" and "That's ... Read More:

amazing piece of literary genius! I am 36 and think this book is awesome. Interactive, alternative humour and a bulwark against twee storylines. I even introduced it my head of department who was immediately won over (although he bought it for his children instead). On a purely critical level, i consider it to be the more superior of all the "pigeon" offerings; however "don't let the pigeon stay up late" is a worthy contender. The series starts to peter off after this one.

This is a sad day for Rupert, Stuart Trotter's drawings are just not good enough after John Harrold's beautiful and detailed artwork. Harrold was a worthy successor to Tourtel and Bestall. I hope a new artist can be found to rescue Rupert, or bring back John Harrold.
In the meantime if you want to buy a great Rupert Annual for this Christmas get the 1963 facsimile produced this year and see just how enchanting a real Rupert Annual can be.

Boy, did I hoot(sorry) at the couple of reviewers who rated this with 1 or 2 stars by over analysing and missing the point of this book. You idiots - KIDS LOVE THIS STORY. As a primary school teacher and father I can honestly say that this book rocks. Both my kids have loved this - the language used within does so much to engage and light the spark of reading in young children. They relate to the owl babies and bond with the reader due to the fantastic writing for little 'uns - top book.

I am not very familiar with picture books. They are not what I grew up on and am more often than not repulsed by the sort of illustrations they, well the modern ones tend to have. They are grotesque and often just insulting to a child's intelligence really. Well, "The Incredible Book Eating Boy" features illustrations which are no less conventionaly gruesome, to say the least, but blessedly not plain grotesque. It's the idea behind it, however, that gets to sparkle so! The book is 'bitten off', on the back cover. Yet the story is about anything but the carnally gluttonnous consumption of books. It is a fantastic and, simple, ingenious parody of what the world expects today from a given piece of media: that it should be understood at once without the audience actually ... Read More:
