extremely noisy winding up, bright light for first minute then goes down to very dim for ages, dimmer than a night light ! and then the on off switch broke on first night of use, dont bother...!

I think these lights do a decent enough job, but the construction quality is pretty poor. I had one set of lights very dim and another would not work at all in continuous mode.

The weak point of this product is the very cheap slider switch used to set the different modes (continous/off/blink). I opened mine up and hard wired them into the on position.

Also one set that arrived was obviously a return as the solar cell was missing the protective plastic and it was a little scratched and mucky.

Having mounted them on my fence to get maximum sunlight they seem to get enough power to keep them going till bedtime, even on an overcast day. So overall once I had gotten around the defects, I'm pretty happy with them ... Read More:

i got them about two weeks ago. when i receive them i was so excited abou it. it was fine for a week when there was a sunshine then for two days there was a rain and they all stopped working. you will need a full sunshine them to be working otherwise you will be disappointed.

If you're looking for a very easy to install light to help you get the key in the door on a dark night then this is perfect. I've already got 4 and I'm about to order another 2 so every outbuilding has one.

If you're looking for a bright light to deter intruders then look elsewhere as this is not really a security light.

I bought this based on the previous reviews and i have to say i am very pleased. I chose the Cobalt colour which has a great finish.

The torch itself is very bright and when i have to go outside at night the beam is so bright it looks like daytime. A little pricey but given that the lifetime of the torch it was good value for money.

Test it pack??
The only thing that initially confused me was the mandatory gift box or a test it pack.Although i chose the normal gift box i later learned that the test it pack is for shop displays so you can press a button on the packaging and see the light beam. Why they would be sold on here for nearly £10 more is a mystery, as i am sure most people buying it will be using it as a torch ... Read More:

I've used the torch for about a year and it's proved excellent - a bright light, not heavy, easy on batteries, and handily pocket-sized. However, despite its tough appearance and feel, today it rolled off my desk, dropped onto a soft carpet, and now refuses to work. I would have expected it to have survived such a fall easily but it seems that it's not so much a toughguy as a bit of a wimp!

I ordered the blue ones and was so impressed I ordered another set. I also now have the white ones, I agree you do need a reasonably bright day but they are very effective and I love the effect in the garden. My friends comment on them too.
