As a die-hard X-Phile, I was excited to hear that a brand new movie had been released. I was expecting the story to pick up somewhat where the show had left off; to see Mulder and Scully trying to stop the impending world colonisation from aliens, the set date of which they had learned in the final series of the show. I had also hoped to see involvement from A.D Skinner and the highly likeable show characters Monica Reyes and John Doggett.
I was very disappointed to find that apparantly the deadly invasion of earth was of no further interest to Mulder and Scully (it's not mentioned once, in fact) and that their friends Reyes and Doggett are no longer involved in their lives. Skinner makes an all too brief appearance, having been out of ... Read More:

Oh dear, A very tired film, with none of the atmosphere of the last film nor of the fantastic t.v series. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson seemed tired and indifferent to the characters they were playing that made them so famous! The storyline was ok, but, little imagination was used and it could, and, should of been a lot better. for the first hour its about scully not wanting to join up with mulder and the rest is simply forgetful.Having been an avid fan for many years I find myself hoping that this will be 'The End'.The X Files: I Want To Believe (1 Disc Edition with Exclusive Free X Files Poster)

All I can say is WOW! this is one of the best films I have ever seen, none stop comedy from start to finish, especially in the character of clueless Morgan.
The whole muppet cat is magnificent. From this film I feel i have learn't a valuable lesson: the best thing about being a pirate is you don't have to wear a suit.

I was really looking forward to watching this as I had just been traveling around New Zealand and have to say i was pretty dissapointed. Billy seems to be the only one who laughs at most of his own jokes and he only seems to touch very slightly on the amazing places he visits. There was so much more they could have shown of NZ. Seems to me this was just an Idea hatched up to get Billy back on the road.

I really enjoyed this movie, which worked for me on several levels, or at least across several generations. I was there in the seventies listening to bands like Strange Fruit, and the film got the feel of those times right. Now I'm an old geezer like the band members, and the film got the feel of that right too. Connolly as roadie was a good choice, providing a salty anchor for the sometimes thin narrative.
One thing that seems 'off' about the way the film was promoted is the praise heaped on Mick Jones (Spooky Tooth, Foreigner) and Chris Difford (Squeeze) for the great music. Their names don't even appear in the IMDB listing for the film and I got the impression that the real force behind the music was Steve Donnelly, who is credited with ... Read More:

The things we love about comedians are their astute observations and mastery of the language. The distractive thing about them is their whiny voices and manic mannerisms. Billy Connolly is possibly the only stand up who does not behave like a big nerd. He delivers his routine like one of the boys and gets away with the taboo.
I saw him perform in Sydney a few years back and had stomach cramps from laughing out aloud. Laughing out aloud - especially in a public place - is rare for me. I did it when I saw “Life of Brian, Black Adder, The Young ones, Little Britain, the Office and when I saw the comedians Simon Roptell and Morgan Dehar (Garter & Quail) perform last year in Newtown.(Very funny and Amazonians - please keep me posted when stuff ... This film did exactly as it should have done with allowing us to see the lifes and relationship of TVs best SC-FI couple 6 years down the road from after the series ended.
Mulder and Scully are back! The story of the film some say wasn't the type of things you would see in the series. Well think again because certain episodes did deal with psychics and neutral paranormal acts such as the episode 'hell money'.
This is a brilliant film which really should satisfy any X-Files fan as well as people who want to see more then a little gore and violence. The film also makes full sense without having to see the whole series!

I've never read the books, it seems that if you have and like them you're not going to like the film. But i loved the film! Funny, well acted by all (and considering i have a pathological dislike of child actors thats sayings something!) and well directed...

A clever title and with results a clever story.
This is no doubt a lovely version of Queen Victoria's life after Albert's death and the government pressure: as praised by many previous reviews.
The story may suggest infidelity, though I see a beautiful friendship, respect and above all loyalty. There is much to gain aside public's love of scandals. There is also Class division, identity, pride, honesty and power. A battle between the mind and heart of a powerful woman, who is struggling with courage and consequences.
Billy Conelly was truly amazing, performing as Mr Brown a close member to the royal family.
Stories have been passed down to me that the Queen actually resented royalty insisting this had killed her husband. This film ... Read More:
