'When Harry Met Sally' is fundamentally a chick flick with a 'will they, won't they' storyline and yet it's smart and snappy dialogue elevates it to the classic it has now become. Focusing on the relationship dynamics between men and women and from the perspective of the cynical and jaded Harry (Billy crystal) and the optimistic, slightly naive Sally (Meg Ryan), this film offers so many humorous insights that it literally is one hilarious moment, followed by a touching moment, followed by a strangely insightful moment and then back to a humourous one again. The assorted couples who introduce the various 'chapters' are also completely endearing and add an extra touch to the overall film. This is a short but perfectly pitched movie and coupled ... I collect this series, and due to space limitations I want the NEWEST box set consisting of TWO SLIM cases containing FOUR DVDs, including one DVD with EXTRA MATERIAL. This reduces the required shelf space to a staggering 1/3!!! as compared to the original edition. The product AMAZON offers as NEW EDITION is an old product from 2002 or earlier containing THREE SLIM cases, one for each of the ordinary DVDs, and the BOX set is therefore 50% thicker. I bought series 1 and 2 in a local store, but series 3 from AMAZON. However, at arrival I was disappointed discovering the Season 3 box set wasn't what I expected! You can't tell the difference between these boxes by looking at the picture, because the box front design, as far as I can tell, is identical!!!

All of these films are absolutely magnificent in their own way. A truly great purchase if you don't already have them on DVD. I had all but 3 of these films on DVD, so decided to sell the ones I had and buy this. Only things is, the Monsters INC and Toy Story 1 films in this Box Set are 4:3 as opposed to 16:9, unlike my previous versions - so a bit annoyed about that. Otherwise, this is an excellent purchase. 8 quality films for £45 is amazing value and well worth the investment.
From now, I'll be buying films on Blu-ray though, but this is a great way to say goodbye to Disney Pixar DVD's! Save yourself the trouble of buying each DVD separately and get this!

Did Elton John watch this before making Tantrums and Tiaras? Did Madonna see it before making 'In Bed with Madonna'? Have Metallica watched this before releasing `Metallica' (the black album)? Did U2 see this before visiting Graceland in Rattle and Hum? Have Velvet Revolver watched it before forming a band?
The humour throughout Spinal Tap is dry and observed rather than slapstick in your face and that is fine by me. Hissy fits about food, on stage pompous prop failure, the tuning of a violin used during a guitar solo, radio interference on stage, the constant replacement of drummers, getting lost on the way to the stage, the revival of the career in Japan, amplifiers that go to eleven, all the jokes and clichés are there, in fact I think this ... This is a Shakespeare play about the prince of Denmark and tragedy surrounding the family. Many people want to say the prince Hamlet is indecision yet he outmaneuvers just about everyone and has depth of vision. Now watch as Hamlet discovers who killed the king, his father, and how he attempts to get his revenge.
The only negative thing I could think of this Kenneth Branagh interpretation is the costume period is not what I was brought up on in the other versions and books. Jack Lemmon was sort of a distraction.
Now that being said, I never knew how good Hamlet could be until I saw the Kenneth Branagh version. For some reason I never noticed the missing dialog in the other versions until I was treated to the complete dialog in this version. ... Read More:

Mitch Robbins (Billy Crystal) is going through a mid-life crisis and is yearning to just get away from the family and work and go away with some friends. Mitch finally is able to find a get away out west on the plains, a cattle drive vacation. Mitch would help drive cattle from new Mexico to Colorado. Accompanying Mitch are his two friends, Phil and Ed (Daniel Stern and Bruno Kirby) who are also down on there luck.
Things don't go well at first, the cattle leader, Curly (Jack Palance) isn't well-liked by most of the other cattle drivers but Mitch establishes an unlikely relationship with him. As the group drives cattle, with probably the strangest group of people you could imagine, more issues and morals are presented such as: friendship, respect, and family.

This is a very well-directed film. The great joy of watching a Branagh-directed Shakespeare is the effort put into ensuring that the diction is as clear and natural as possible without losing the strength of the text. The cast is excellent, Derek Jacobi and Kate Winslet in particular; even cameos for which you would perhaps have doubts - such as Robin Williams, who impresses with his characterisation of Osric, and Billy Crystal as the gravedigger - work. Indeed, the repartee between Billy Crystal and Simon Russell-Beale in the graveyard scene is the funniest I have ever witnessed.
The colour and sets are spectacular, all filmed in 70mm, allowing for great richness and definition. Branagh says he wanted to escape the Gothic look of previous Hamlets, "away from the clichés of doublet ... Read More:
