I just finished watching the Rocky cycle, all 6! I must say it was excellent watching the whole series. I remember being disappointed by number five especially but it was better than I remembered, especially knowing how it was "top and tailed" by number 6. If you are a woman or male-child (physically or mentally) you may just want to watch I and VI but definitely watch VI again with the commentary by Sylvester Stallone so you can get the depth behind this life lesson.

I love this film, I have watched it anything up to 20 times in a row and never ever become bored. I've shown in to many friends, some like comedy, some aren't so fussed, but all of them LOVED this film.

The minute you watch it, you become some kind of Life of Brian type fan, citing it as a classic and able to quote it almost word for word. I have seen most Sandler movies, the utter uselessness of The Waterboy and Little Nicky to the brilliance of The Wedding Singer and Big Daddy, but they never quite compare in my mind, funny as the latter two are. Sandler fan or not, you HAVE to watch this.

I'm not going to review the plot or acting as I'm sure that if you haven't seen this movie before then there are plenty of places to read how good it is. As a movie I give it 5*, one of my favourites.

As a blu ray disc I'm giving it 4*. Many parts such as the scenes when they first land in the jungle look amazing! The light coming through the tree's really sets the whole thing off and it looks like a film that was made yesterday. The camo paint, weapons et all on the characters look great throughout as well. Night time scenes, while not excellent are still very good. My only criticism (and why it doesn't get 5*) is that when there are both light and dark on the screen at once, the dark does seem a bit grainy (not my TV, its ok with everything else. ... THIS IS JUST AMAZING. Rocky is such a legend and sylvester stallone plays Rocky so superbly. The first film is the best because thats just life changing, but rocky 2 has the best scene where he is climbing the philadelphia museum steps with thousands of people behind him, Rocky 3 is a great film, Rocky 4 is a bit better than rocky 3 and rocky 5 is another hit. If you want your slice of rocky then go buy this because its in a different class to other films. Sit back grab the popcorn and watch rocky, its life-changing.

Predator was a great film back in 1987 and it still is now! Here we have Arnold Schwarzenegger heading the cast, who plays Dutch in charge of a squad of commandos sent on a mission to a Central American jungle to rescue airmen that have been captured by Guerillas. But there is something hidden in the jungle, which is invisible to the human eye and isn't from this earth, the creature is known as the Predator an alien which hunts rare species and human beings are the latest species that he's discovered. He has a cloaking device which enables him to blend in with the jungle and that makes it easy for him to pick off the commandos one by one till only Arnie and a female hostage are left fighting for survival.

I'm not a fan of boxing, so I put off watching this film for a long time as I was under the false impression that that was all that Rocky was about - boxing. How very wrong I was. Although boxing is one of the main storylines in the movie, it is definately not the only one, with many other story arcs, themes, and ideas that were better suited to my interests.

Sylvester Stallone gives an incredible, unforgettable performance as Rocky Balboa, a small time boxer who is given the chance to fight the heavy weight champion. The character is warm, likeable, funny, and Stallone really brings Rocky alive. Talia Shire likewise does a fantastic job as Adrian (Rocky's incredibly shy girlfriend), infact, I can't think of a single bad performance in the entire film.

ROCKY IV, billed as East meets West, is a pretty good action film from the 1980s. That doesn't mean it's a good Rocky movie as far as dramatic or Oscar worthy issues go, but it is one of those films you think of when you think of classic 1980s movies.
